I was going to start this post off with a paragraph summarizing Pinterest, but deleted it when I found this:Yep, that pretty much sums it up! Sure, I know I won't make half of things on my "craftiness" pinboard, or even a quarter of the recipes on my "food I may never make" pinboard (see, I set the bar extra low with the title)...but it's still fun. And believe it or not, some of my pins have actually come to fruition. Check it out...No-Sew Curtains...that I ended up sewing.Pin:My ...
Splash
Before celebrating Jake and Julle's wedding yesterday we got to spend some time with Mr. Luke. He is all about playing in the water these days...at the pool, the lake, or anywhere else that he can make a splash. Another reason I think Josh and Melissa should just go ahead and buy a lake house and a boat. Like I said, we'll bring the food every time we come to visit...fair trade, right? :)Starting the day off right with Papa. Ahhh, this is the life! Then it was off for a ride on Papa's new ...
Stuff.
So it's been awhile. I don't know why I haven't blogged lately…maybe it's because I spend all of my spare time watching ridiculous television. Shows like Sweet Home Alabama, RHWONJ and Toddlers & Tiaras are my guilty pleasure. Wait, do you have to be ashamed to make it a guilty pleasure?Meet Olivia. She's going to be one messed up adult, but I giggle uncontrollably everytime I watch this. Crazy fool.Ohhhh crazy people--how boring would this world be without them?My in-laws were in town ...
Back Porch Blogging
There are perks to marrying a farm kid. 1. He always knows the answer to the "what is growing in that field?" game…or at least he pretends too…who am I to argue that it doesn't look like milo? 2. He mows the yard without complaining. I imagine caring for our postage-stamp-size lawn is a heck of a lot easier than a typical day's farm work. 3. And finally, he's handy. When it comes to home improvement stuff, he's kind of the man.Case and point: our new patio. He dreamt it up a few months ...
Red, WT & Blue
Who doesn't love the 4th of July? I'd have to say my favorite place in the world to be for the holiday is my mom's little hometown in Iowa. Just a couple of years ago Chris and I were there at the tractor pull... The field games…And the fair on main street. Look how tiny Maren was! This year she got second place in the wheel barrow competition and got her first crush…not a toddler anymore :)Well seeing as how Clearfield is a good 15 hour drive from Houston, we couldn't make the trip this year. ...
Curtain Love
After 3 months of weekly trips to fabric stores, and hours upon hours of scouring the internet…on Monday, I finally found the perfect fabric for our living room curtains. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of fabrics I liked, but I wasn't about to pay $35 a yard--especially when I needed 12 yards. Seriously though, who pays $35 a yard for fabric? When I saw the exact red ikat pattern I'd envisioned at $8.95/yard, I jumped right on it. I was really hoping to have it before the weekend, but ...
