Happy Friday!!! Let’s just pretend like I blog more than once a month…and let me jump right into this Five on Friday like it’s so totally normal…okay? Thanks for rolling with me, friends!!!
ONE.
We have a TOOTH! That’s right, after nearly two months of certainty that Hartley was teething (haha), it’s finally the REAL DEAL. She’s remained pretty happy through it all–and Arden’s new favorite activity is checking the progress of that little toofer every morning.
Is she sweet, or what?
TWO.
Confession: Three weeks ago I didn’t even know what a podcast was.
(I know, I know…?)
Update: I’m now obsessed. ?
I was driving back from Manhattan a few weeks ago with only a sleeping Hartley in the car, and I decided maybe it was time to learn what all of this podcast business was about. Somehow through a Facebook search of “podcast recommendations” I came across Jamie Ivey. I knew nothing about her or the “Happy Hour” podcast, but decided to give it a go anyway.
3 weeks and probably 15 podcasts later, Jamie and I are best friends. Kidding! But really…we would be if we ever met 😉 Each week she chats with a girlfriend about parenting, marriage, faith, etc…and each time I listen I feel refreshed…and creepily like I was part of the conversation too. This week she actually talked to Amanda Jones, whose husband was the pastor of the church we went to in Houston! Hearing all of the Texas connections makes me happy.
And if you’re wondering when in the heck I have time to listen to an hour-long podcast every day…I don’t. I listen to 30 minutes on headphones while I do my workout in the basement. I’m not gonna lie, it’s pretty much the only thing that’s been getting me off my butt lately!
Anywho, if you’ve been living under a rock like me and haven’t listened to Jamie’s podcast–do it!!! And please send me any other podcast recs you have. Clearly, my fitness depends on it! ?
THREE.
My kids steal my Yeti tumbler alllll day long, so I finally decided to get them some of their own. Aren’t they the cutest?? Both kids now think they’re hot stuff with their very own “Yetis”….and I’m hoping it’ll reduce the number of cups and water bottles we have scattered around our house 24/7! I mean, I’ll cheers to that!!!
You can get a 2-pack here…or a larger 11 oz. tumbler here.
FOUR.
Okay, tell me what you’re binge watching on Netflix. And by binge-watching I mean what are you watching one episode of (maybe two if you’re lucky) every night? Because we all know Netflix marathons are something that only existed before kids!!!
We just finished Ozark. OMG. How am I going to wait another year for season 2?!?! We tried to watch Glow and that was a N-O…so now it’s on to Narcos, which is good and should keep us occupied for awhile…
I swear there’s more to my life than Podcasts and Netflix. Maybe…
FIVE.
And THIS pretty much sums up how I feel about Kansas weather right now.
I feel like sometimes if you dress the part, it’ll just happen. RIGHT?!?! ?????
Have a great weekend!!! ?

For podcasts I recommend Serial (season 1 is better than 2), S Town, and Up and Vanished. Although that’s probably only if you like mysteries 🙂
For Netflix Fuller House season 3 comes our next week. Lol!

Yes! I just told my husband that podcasts were the greatest new thing of 2017 and he looked at me and said ” you know they have been around for years right?” I know, I know but for me they are the greatest new things. Try Surviving Sarah ,The Big Boo Cast and God Centered Mom you will not be disappointed. Oh and for a good laugh the Pod Cast.

Podcasts are SO awesome! I love This American Life! Also, I am not sure your level of tolerance for super hero stuff (mine is through the roof – I love them) but pretty much all the Marvel shows on Netflix are amazing – Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are all badass.

This is a random question, but I’ve followed your blog for awhile because I love your home decor style! I LOVED the rug that you used to have in your living room. Do you know if it’s still available to purchase? I could never find it.

Adding that podcast to my “to listen” list. And who knew yeti made kid size ones!
