It’s no secret—holidays are awesome with kids. And now I’ve come to realize that they’re even better with blog friends 🙂
I was so excited to be a part of a Valentine’s day swap put together by the lovely (and extraordinarily organized for having 2 kids under 2! ha!) Erinn at Strawberry Swing & Other Things. It was a little bit like the holiday gift exchange we did back in December, only the mommas got to do a little swapping this time too!
First, we put together some pretty little Valentine’s for Arden to send out to her blog friends. Yes, I informed her she has “blog friends” and she was pumped 😉
Arden was the head ar-teest behind the job…she “ziplock finger-painted” each one. I originally thought I could pull the cards out nice and clean, but much like my other Pinterest adventures, things didn’t go exactly as planned. But they did end up smearing in a pretty cute way so we just went with it…
After the paint dried, I added some gold sparkly hearts and a note inside…
Then we sealed them with a kiss and sent them on their way–all over the US!
The best part of the whole thing was going to the mailbox each day to see what Valentine’s had arrived. Arden would rip them open and we’d talk about who each one was from. In an email and internet world, there’s something so heartwarming about an envelope in your mailbox 🙂
By Valentine’s Day we had a lovely collection of sweet little notes.
Thanks or the garland, Sara–it was the perfect way to display all the love!
There was also one mail day that was especially exciting…
My blog friend, Erin (who I’m convinced was meant to be my real-life BFF!), sent me this sweet little package of Valentine’s goodies. Handmade heart garland, washi tape, a cookie stamper, heart-shaped straws, and some darling accessories for Arden…basically a box full of V-Day goodness! Thank you, Erin–I LOVED it all!!! XO
And Arden has worn the necklace that Lex made her just about every day since we got the package. She brings it to me and says “Ardoo, neckoo?” when she wants me to put it on her. Good thing for her, I speak Arden-ese 😉
You can hop on over to Running From the Law to see what I sent one of my favorite bloggers for the swap! I found a beauty of a deal at Target…I only wish they’d had two so I could match her! 😉
Also check out all of the other gals and their darling Valentine’s!

We LOVED Arden's valentine (okay, I loved it) Seriously was so pretty, she's quite the (ziploc) artist! And I love the gift Erin sent, probably because I sent a similar gift to Natalie… must be an Erin(n) thing!!

Oh I LOVE how you displayed the cards with Sara's banner…so clever! And you were so creative with the cards…loved ours!

First of all, you're a genius for putting the cards and paint in baggies. No mess! We had paint all over our kitchen and even after two baths I was finding dried paint on Mac! 🙂 Loved your card and I'm ABSOLUTELY gaga over the scarf. I don't have anything that color! It's beautiful! Thank you so much!
