I had every intention of being a good blogger this week. I had lots to talk about, fun things to share…and then I got the flashing folder screen of death on my laptop. Dun dun dun. Sadly, it doesn’t look like the old Macbook is going to pull through–so while we research replacements (and by we, I mean Chris…electronics are not really my thing) I’ll be borrowing Chris’ work computer when I can in the evenings. It’s gonna be tough, but I think I’ll survive.
But enough about my silly first-world problems…on to the all of the other “firsts” that have been going on around our house!
Little miss Arden Quinn had her first haircut (or should I say mullet-trim) on Sunday!
I know she’s a girl and will have to eventually grow her hair out, but I figure if we just trim the stuff in the back until the top grows out, she’ll eventually have a cute little bob.
Which brings me to this…Chris asked if I was going to make Arden have the same haircut as me.
Well duh.
She liked the salon from the start because they had a train table. Who knew she liked trains and cars so much?!
Before…just a little unruly.
I asked the stylist to “stack” it in the back and, believe it or not, she didn’t laugh at me…
Arden looks pretty happy about the haircut, right?
…that’s because her dad was right there with her favorite videos on repeat. This was key to getting her to stop swatting at the poor woman doing the cutting!
And ta-da! Clean cut and mullet-free 🙂
Not a dramatic difference by any means, but I think it looks great!
And of course, I couldn’t say no to the “first haircut package”. I mean, how cute is this??
The other firsts?
First trip to the dentist. Yikes! I wasn’t planning on taking Arden until she was 2, but after she fell and chipped small parts of her two front teeth last weekend, we decided it couldn’t hurt just to have them take a look. The whole process was pretty painless–I held her and laid her backwards into the dentist’s lap, and it took all of 30 seconds for her to check everything out. Plus Arden got to pick a toy out of the treasure chest….this was always my favorite part of the dentist’s office as a kid!
And lastly, why has it taken me so long to give this girl a popsicle??
She’s got some serious teeth coming through right now, so I thought this would be the perfect dessert for her poor, sore gums.
She liked it a lot, but also enjoyed sharing with Daddy. I’m sure he didn’t mind considering he recently told me that he’d been “waiting his whole life to have a kid whose leftovers he could eat”. Dream big, Chris…dream big…
Happy Thursday, friends!

So sorry about her chipped tooth but glad the trip to the dentist went well for her! Callie had a really fun time when I took her earlier this month but just for a "happy visit".

So cute! And while I try to resist (terribly) at eating leftovers, my garbage disposal husband always finishes what A leaves behind. Love the hair cut and funny about the same style. I've been forcing A's part to be the same as mine since day one!

How cute is she!?! That first haircut package is awesome!

She's so stinkin cute!!! And sad sad sad about the MAC book. Did you happen to take it in to the Genius Bar people at Apple. Mine did the same and they saved her life 🙂

I was planning on it but Chris' coworker said he would take a look at it first. Just got a text that there are signs of life…yay!!!! 🙂

Arden was SO good at her haircut! Lex is going to be all sorts of awful- I know it. And I love her fancy new hair!!! And Popsicles are AMAZING. Now you see our obsession :)!

Since Drew started getting teeth at just a few months old, we've been taking him to the dentist since 6 months of age and I doubt we'll do that with the next kiddo. He HATES it and screams every time! I think he missed the memo that Arden got about being so good!

She is so cute! I'm still laughing at your husband's comment about the leftovers! LOL

That haircut package is just too cute. I've given Abbie fruit puree popsicles before and she LOVES them – really good for teething!
Courtney says
Ha that is cute about your husband with leftovers. My husband is more like…no way no how.
Arden doesn't look so sure sitting in that little green chair – is that pre-dentist or post-dentist lol?
I've never considered popsicles for teething. Good stuff!
Courtney says
She is SO stinkin sweet. If this was Facebook I'd be blowing up your feed by clicking "like" on every single picture. So, so cute.

I love that her middle name is Quinn!! It's one of my favorite names for a girl!
And, of course, Arden is just as darling as ever!

That is just too funny about the popsicle! I literally said "Oh yea, hey Lucy could probably eat that, too, duh" as I read what you wrote. Ha! I spy a little kitty cup in the last picture! We now have two, they multiply apparently 🙂

She's so cute! The picture of A and your husband is adorable. We may be in need of a first mullet trim soon too. I can't decide if we should cut her hair or just start calling her Brookie Ray Cyrus.

She is just so precious! I love the first haircut pictures…and the fact that you told her to "stack" it in the back is just too funny. Mama's mini me for sure! 🙂

Oh my goodness. Arden is looking like such a little LADY these days. So big. And I LOVE that you caved on the first haircut package. Obvi.

Sweetest little haircut! She could rock any hair style and be as precious as ever!!! I think I need to go ahead and order baby Claire some of those adorable gold flats for the future! Loved seeing you two girls today!!! XOXO
