Oh Friday…we meet again!
Let’s jump right into it, shall we?
one.
Valentine’s Day. It’s never been my favorite holiday, but kids have a way of changing things like that, don’t they?? Our day was full of hearts, cards, sugar…and more sugar. We ordered a heart-shaped pizza for dinner (because I thought it might cancel out the sugar coma…it works like that, right??) and opened up some little presents when Chris got home from work. All in all, a LOVEly day 😉
10 years ago Chris and I celebrated our first Valentine’s Day in my college apartment…with heart-shaped pizza (ha!) and a really bad Netflix DVD that came in the mail. Do you remember that’s how it used to work?!? Anyway…10 years later and I’d say we’re still having fun 😉
two.
Hi, I’m Vanessa and I only wear comfy clothes. And if you like comfy clothes too, you should totally get this cardigan 🙂 I bought it on sale this week and now I want it in EVERY color. I love anything that makes me look put together(ish) when I clearly am not!
And in case you’re wondering what it looks like without a gigantic belly…
So cute, right?!
three.
Platelets are stupid. Seriously…stupid. A lot of sweet friends have been checking in with me this week to see where my platelets stand (aka the fate of my epidural)–and the answer right now is, mehhh. They were down to 80,000 last week (they want 90,000+ ideally for an epidural), so the hematologist started me on steroids last Friday…and now we wait to see if they work. The good news is the only side effects are insomnia, weight gain, and vision changes. Good news, right?!? But hey, if they get me a pain-free birth and keep my organs inside, it’ll be WELL worth the sleepless nights 🙂
four.
In happier baby news…the nursery is done, the hospital bag is mostly packed, and these little gifts are ready and wrapped! I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew Arden and Nash would LOVE their own cameras to take pictures of the baby (and probably everything else in sight). Plus, I think the albums will be the sweetest keepsakes, showing the first few days from the perspective of the “big kids”!
I found the KidiZoom cameras here…and made the photo album covers with my Cameo machine. I totally need to take a class to figure out how to use that thing to it’s full potential…but so far I’m loving it!
five.
I’m sure it’ll be months and months before I get the itch to do house projects again, but somehow, some way, I really want to make our laundry room look like this. Maybe then I wouldn’t dread laundry so much? Maybe?!?!
Happy Friday, friends! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The cameras are such a great idea! Harper has that camera and LOVES it. I just wish I’d have thought to take it with us to the hospital when Boston was born!! You’re genius. & yes on the laundry room. I’m so anxious for that one to be revealed on Fixer Upper!

Valentine’s Day becomes so much more fun with kids. We had a blast doing things with hearts all day. Love Nash’s jammies and shades. Ha ah! That sweater is amazing! Looks so comfy. The idea of cameras and a book to put the photos in is genius. I can’t wait to see what they come up with.

I know you don’t WANT a natural birth, but if the epidural can’t happen, you can handle it! I swear it’s all about your mindset. Try to embrace the moment if that is what you are left with. Will be thinking about you!

That is an adorable idea with the cameras and little photo albums. I love it! And, gosh those two just slay me with their sweet little smirks in the photos. Good luck in this last little stretch. I can’t wait to meet your little one via the blog!

And now I need that cardigan! Idk, it may even be cuter with the baby bump. Praying for your epidural because I know how wonderful they are!

I had no idea you had an issue with your platelets (and your organs staying inside???), but crossing my fingers and toes that your platelet count rises and you can get your epidural!!
