After a long week of traveling for work, I got back in town just in time for our weekend guests…Whitney and Adam! Friday night consisted of wine and Catch Phrase…a dynamic duo, some would say. Hazel appreciated the fact that we stayed home and hung out with her, and I appreciated the fact that we got to lounge around in our sweatpants on a Friday night!
On Saturday the guys played in a golf tournament, so Whit and I made a girls day out of it…and it was glorious! After being total bums most of the morning, we grabbed some lunch and headed to Edwardsville’s shopping mecca, aka Old Navy. Armed with a couple of 30% coupons, we found lots of cute stuff…none of which was on the list of things we were looking for, but what are you gonna do?!? With nothing else planned, we decided it was a perfect day for Springer’s Creek Winery. We did a little tasting, decided that we liked just about everything and were going to need two bottles, and headed outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. When we got out to the cute little garden patio, each with a bottle in hand, we saw a table of 4… sharing 1 bottle of wine…yeahhhhh. That didn’t stop us from having a great time though! We shut the place down, talking and laughing about everything. It’s so funny to think back to junior high when Whitney and I met on the Jaguar Jazz drill team. 🙂 Who would’ve thought 10 years later we’d be sharing drinking our own bottles of wine together, in Edwardsville, Illinois?!?!?! I love it!!! So lucky to have her as one of my very best friends.
Cheers!
Yep, that’s a Zach Morris cell phone bolted to the door. Turns out it isn’t their alarm system like Whitney thought… 🙂
After the winery it only seemed natural to hit the Taco Bell drive-thru on the way home. Yes, I would like to add cinnamon twists to my order…thanks for asking!
By the time the boys got home from golf, we were all too pooped to do anything but lay on the couch and watch TV. Again, totally fine by me!
After they left on Sunday I decided it was time to start mentally and physically preparing for the task ahead….Bill Snyder Family Stadium/Aggieville/MANHATTAN!!!!!! I absolutely cannot wait to be back in Manhappiness with some of my favorite people…
GO CATS!!!!
