We’re less than one month away from Valentine’s Day and everything is red, pink, and/or heart shaped around our house. I think it’s pretty obvious that I’ve got a bit of Target Dollar Spot obsession, but I’ve never mentioned my love for dollar stores. We like to get our party supplies there (gift bags, plates, napkins, balloons, etc) and of course, all the best holiday junk supplies for the kids. For a dollar you can find something festive and fun that your kids will love playing with…and then you can just throw it away when the holiday is over.
We were browsing the aisles of our local Dollar Tree last week when Arden spotted some cute heart-shaped glasses and said she neeeeeeeded them. Hard to turn down when they’re four for a dollar, so I tossed them in cart and kept moving. Then a lightbulb went off in my head…Valentines! Of course, Arden was totally in agreement that we should give these to her preschool and dance friends–and she immediately started deciding who would get which colors 🙂
If you’re looking for an inexpensive and non-candy Valentine for your kiddos to give this year, then look no further. These will cost you about 25 cents a pop…and you won’t be tempted to eat them!
What you’ll need:
1. Heart glasses (ours were from the Dollar Tree, but you can find similar ones here)
2. White card stock
3. Color printer
4. Scissors
5. Hole punch
What to do:
1. Download the free printable here and print.
2. Cut out the Valentines.
3. Use a hole punch to make holes on both sides where the glasses can be inserted. It took a little trial and error for me to get just the right spot, but my holes ended up being about 1/2 inch in on each side.
4. Sign, seal and deliver!
When I asked Arden to “model” the glasses for me, she said, “oooh, and I should wear my LOVE dress too!” A girl after my own heart, I tell ya…
She had so much fun taking these pictures that she asked me to attach them to her Valentines for her friends. I love this sweet girl so much…
And then there’s this guy. Not an official part of our photo shoot, but pretty darn cute nonetheless.
XOXO

Cute! I was actually at Target last night and in the V-Day Section they had packs of these glasses for $3. I think it was 9 or 12 in a pack – yellow, blue, pink, and red – perfect for boys and girls! I thought of your post instantly!
I always have Dollar Tree envy – the ones by me never have anything good…. but Target has been ON POINT lately!

Oh my gosh, that’s great! I haven’t seen those at ours yet, but oh my gosh, their V-Day one spot stuff is amazing! I could spend a good 20 minutes there every visit 😉 And don’t worry–Target is almost making the Dollar Tree unnecessary, haha!

So, so cute. I actually bought these glasses for Mason’s class to put in their “goodie bags” but I am loving it attached to the card with the adorable saying!
