One great thing about living in Houston is the never-ending list of things to do. This city gets to host some pretty awesome events…take for instance, the Final Four. Obviously, I’d hoped that Frank and the boys would be playing in it and all of our friends would be camping out at our house…but maybe in 5 years when the tournament comes back here? I wouldn’t be complaining if we were still here 🙂
We didn’t join in on the Final Four madness until Sunday. Chris, again, was quite a trooper…humoring me and riding the bus downtown around 2pm for a free concert. Thank goodness for beer or I think I’d have to go to every music event alone!
When I hear “free concert” I usually think of Beatles tribute bands or Tommy Roe at the Johnson County Fair. Dad, I don’t even think you read my blog, but you’re one of the only people that would understand that reference. “Dizzy”…great song.
Well, this was unlike any free concert I’ve ever been too.
Roger Creager
Uncle Kracker
Pat Green
KENNY CHESNEY
(Ahhhh!)
We got there before the gates opened and were able to get fairly close to the stage. Not Bayou Country Superfest close, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ll probably never experience that again 🙂 This was also a first though…I’ve never been to a concert right in the middle of downtown. It really felt like Sandstone until you turned around and saw skyscrapers and city lights.
Love Pat Green! The last time we saw him was in St. Louis, at a tiny venue with maybe 200 people. This time there were 50,000+!
Lauren and her friend Sara joined us! (And looked way cuter than me, I must say. Looks like just I got done with a workout–yikes!)
And finally, Kenny took the stage. I just have no words to explain how fantastic he is.
I’ve seen most of my Kenny concerts with Heather, and the ones that I haven’t I’ve spent texting her or leaving her “I Go Back” singalong voicemails. This time I got a little nostalgic and went home and looked at pictures of our very first Kenny concert.
Hello summer after freshman year…
Heather, would you ever consider bringing the eyebrow ring back??? 😉
Okay, I’ll keep the Monday portion of this short and sweet. If you watched the National Championship game, you know there’s not much to talk about anyway!
But hey, it was a cool experience even so…
I’d have to say that my favorite part of the whole game was this guy…the Butler Bulldog. Cuteness.
Thanks to the Siegels for letting me be the 3rd wheel at the game!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s 11pm and I’m still awake. Only a Teen Mom 2 reunion could make me do that. Goodnight!

3 things: 1. Holy awesome concert! next time something FREE comes around like that you better call the hartleys! 2. that bulldog reminded me to ask you – have you seen Due Date? it's kinda funny, mostly dumb, but it made me fall madly in love with french bulldogs. you have to watch it just for "sonny"!!! 3. miss you!!
