So you may remember this post from Chris back in February. I am pleased to report that the no-indoor-dog-farm-kid will soon become the proud papa of a darling French Bulldog the first week of July!!!
I’ve been in touch with a breeder in NE Missouri since January, so we were pretty excited to get the e-mail on May 1st telling us 2 boys and 2 girls had been born! We were pretty sure we wanted one of the boys, but decided to make a little roadtrip to Unionville on Saturday and pick it out ourselves. The family was so nice and we had a great time playing with the pups and their sweet sweet mom, Emily. We had seen pictures online but we were not prepared for just how tiny and precious these little babies would be…they fit in the palm of my hand! And what I really wasn’t expecting…we chose a girl!!! I have always been a fan of boy dogs and I wasn’t really sure having a girl dow was “me”. Sounds weird, I know. However, this little girl won us over! Just watch this video and you’ll see why…
Ridiculously cute, right?!? Well now we have had to rethink names completely. Goodbye George, Atticus or Vito…hello….???? We’re not sure what her name will be yet, but don’t be surprised if you have a great aunt or great grandmother with the same name! I’m thinking something classic, yet unique…from another era. I’ll let you know in 5 weeks 🙂 Here are some more pictures of the little doll…
So tiny…
With her siblings. She’s the lightest one…second from the left.
A bonus feature of this trip…on the way home we got to eat at Pagliai’s Pizza in Kirksville! My parents used to frequent this little joint in college…they actually lived across the street the first couple years of their marriage. Anyway, best pizza ever!
Well, that’s all for now. The first of many blog posts about the newest Calcara, I’m sure!!! I just can’t wait to bring her home!
