Wow, what a weekend! There's a lot to tell so I'd better just jump right in... I'll start with Wednesday--our doctor's appointment and ultrasound. In true Vanessa fashion the night before a big event, I didn't sleep much. I was excited, anxious, and still a little bit worried. But when we walked out of the doctor's office the next day I could not have been happier. Everything was just as it was supposed to be and I had a sealed envelope in my hand that told us ...
In Just 3 Days
I will be loving on this kid… And hugging these three... The cell phone pictures I get from my brother and sister always make my day…but I can't wait to take some of my own this weekend. Ready to click my heals and be back in Kansas! ...
Halfway There!
Holy moly...20 weeks down, 20 more to go! The first half has gone by rather slowly for me, but I'm just impatient like that. I have a feeling the second half will be a completely different story though. We know what we're doing pretty much every weekend until mid-July...and then let's face it, I probably won't be leaving the pool for the last month. Hope I don't see anyone I know at that point :) And finally, I have a picture worth sharing. I'm not going to lie, it's ...
Under the Big Top
If I'm being honest, I'll tell you that things have been pretty uneventful around the Calcara house lately. We are in the "waiting to find out the gender of our baby" lull right now. I absolutely love my doctor, but man does she make you wait a long time for this sonogram! My appointment is next Wednesday and we won't find out until that Saturday when we're celebrating Chris' birthday. We decided that after waiting 21 weeks, 4 more days won't kill us...plus we'll get to ...
And May the Odds be Ever in Your Favor
Chris and I joined all of the 15-year-olds in Katy last night for a little Katniss, Peeta, and (not nearly enough) Gale. We got to the mall about 45 minutes before the 7:00 show, but luckily there were still plenty of seats available for the 6:15--so we walked right in. Score. I joined all the teenie boppers in getting way too excited about the Breaking Dawn II trailer…and then came the preview for Titanic in 3D. The girl next to me turned to her friend and said "that move ...
Hunkering Down
Well, it's that time of the year again. Basketball season is over (at our house anyway)…and there are a little over five months until football starts. In the words of Kyle Huschka, it's time to "hunker down" folks. Last year he warned us that this was the time when it was hard to live in Houston…it gets really hot, you miss your families, and there are no K-State sports to entertain you. We started talking about this yesterday at the Siegel's St. Patrick's Day party, and it got ...
