You may be starting to notice a trend amongst my blog posts...yes, they're all in Kansas. This time around I came back for Brittany's baby shower on Saturday and decided it made more sense to just stay in town until we left for my family reunion at the lake tomorrow. No complaints here! Here are some of the highlights of these fun few days in KC. Britt's baby shower was great! Lauren is a party planning machine and did such a good job with the decor, the game, etc. Here's ...
Southbound 99
When I drive south on Highway 99 towards Sugar Land I always get a queasy feeling in my stomach. This was my regular route to the fertility clinic, which meant I was always on my way to get news--good or bad, I was never sure. So yesterday when I started down that same highway I automatically felt nervous and sick…until I remembered what we were going to Sugar Land for. To meet this little lady. Chris and I were just completely amazed throughout the whole 3D ...
Fat Hog in a Barn
Some of you may remember the post Chris did last year about his family's Memorial weekend celebration--the Fat Hog 500. If you do, that means you've been reading this blog for at least a year and should probably win a prize for sticking it out! On Thursday we loaded up the car and headed north after work. We typically stop at the good ol' EconoLodge in Oklahoma City, but we were lucky this time and got to spend the night with the Seacats in their adorable new house. Hazel even ...
Killin’ Time Until August
When I was purchasing our crib mattress last weekend, the girl at the baby store said, "Wow, you are really on top of things!" I know I should be happy that we're getting lots done in the baby's room, but honestly, I'm more worried that it's going to be finished before June is even over, leaving us twiddling our thumbs until August. So what's my plan? I'm going to do silly little craft projects in order to feel like I'm being productive...but not too productive. Gotta ...
Emily & Jordan’s Baby-Que
This past weekend we hosted a "Baby-Que" couples shower for our friends Emily and Jordan. Their little one will be here in less than a month and we are all so excited for the first baby in our Texas family :) We've nicknamed him/her "Mervin", but I have a feeling that Jordan and Emily will be happy to retire that name when the baby arrives! This theme was such a fun one--and pretty easy too. In case you didn't see this picture after I posted it on Facebook not ...
Nursery Progress
Well, the baby's room is officially painted and paneled. And we only lost a refrigerator full of food in the process! I'm really proud of the room so far, but I can't take credit for any of the work. All I did was pick the color and the finishes...and then I sat on my butt and caught up on DVRed shows while Chris slaved away. Those paint fumes will get you, you know. Here's a before picture from when we bought the house... The first step was the paint testing. ...
