It really sunk in as I drove home from the airport this morning…the next time I see my parents, I will be a parent. Wow. These visits will never be the same. We won't be spending the days shopping, or eating out every night…we'll be sitting in the living room just watching our baby. It might sound boring, but I sure can't wait. I know that eventually we'll think back to these days and wonder what on earth we did before this kiddo came along. That being said, I ...
Hello Friday!
Hello Friday! This is an especially good one for me--I've got the morning off and I'll be heading to the airport shortly to pick up my parents! I can't wait to show them the nursery, shop, and just spend one last "pre-baby" visit with them. So while I've got some time this morning I thought I would share the maternity pictures that we took last week. Like I said before, it was all meant to be that our first session was rained out--because I can't imagine these pictures ...

Favorite New Things
First of all, thanks to everyone for the sweet comments about our nursery...they completely made my day/week/month! Well there are a few new things in our house this week and I thought I'd share them with you via Instagram pics. First, the snazzy new iPad I'm blogging from right now. I've had my eye on one for quite some time--and on Sunday we finally took the plunge! Best decision ever. I used it to take a picture of Hazel last night and she looked at me like "where on earth did you ...
Best Room in the House
It's done! For the most part anyway. I'm sure there will be many modifications and additions along the way, but for now we're going to say the nursery is complete! It's not even funny how much I've enjoyed working on this room. Decorating is fun in the first place, but when it's for your baby on the way--it's thrilling. Yes, I just used the word thrilling to describe decorating. It all started with a crib. When I saw Franklin & Ben's Mason Crib highlighted on the Project Nursery ...
I Made a Rug
Seriously--I did. I can honestly say I never thought those four words would come out of my mouth! We didn't really need a rug since the nursery is carpeted, but I wanted a small one just to add a little something extra to the room. You can get the complete tutorial here, but I also took a few pictures of my own along the way… It started with what seemed like thousands of strips of fabric. Some I bought pre-cut in a Moda jelly roll, and the cream and green I ...
