Since a grand total of about 6 people will see our holiday decor in person this year, I decided I'd better share some pictures on the ol' blog. Gotta make it worth the hours of setup, right? :) What you can't see in this picture is the pile of baby gear and toys behind the couch. You better believe my living room never looks like this anymore! Can you spot the little white dog? Last year I started taking all the cute Christmas cards from friends and family and hanging them ...
Last Christmas
On this day last year, Chris in I were at the hospital getting ready for our second embryo transfer. "Last Christmas" by Wham! was playing, which made us both laugh and helped us to relax a little. Now every time I hear that song I will smile…and you can bet I'm going to make sure Arden loves it :) Last year Arden was just a dream…and now she's a little cutie sitting on Santa's lap! What a blessing! Who is this dude?!? We were pretending it wasn't 80 degrees outside ...
When You Know, You Know
Monday was one of the tougher days I've experienced in my life. I know I'm not the first woman to go through this, and I definitely won't be the last…but the first day of daycare sure has to be one of the most awful things ever. Call me a drama queen, but the idea of handing my child over to someone else, after we'd spent almost every minute of her existence together, was just devastating to me. I cried…a lot. The teachers consoled me, Chris consoled me, but nothing could ...
Starting Traditions – ‘Twas The Mouse Who Saved Christmas

One time my sister found two berries in a row, called it a double berry, and laughed hysterically. All on video tape for our family to watch year after year. Guess you had to be there? :) Although Arden is too little to understand double-berries and the other traditions we might start this ...
Fourteen Weeks!
Arden, I remember coming home from the hospital with you and thinking, wow, I have 14 weeks to do nothing but love and care for this little baby. December 3rd seemed so far away. But now here we are, at the end of my maternity leave and I feel like it all happened in the blink of an eye. I am not ready for Monday--not one bit. But for now I'm going to make every minute of our last full week together count. Which is why this post is going to be a little ...
Child of God
This past Sunday, little miss Arden was baptized! Both of our parents and her uncle Taylor were in town for Thanksgiving, so we thought it would be the perfect time for the big ceremony. We really love our church. It's so homey and warm…and it just has this wonderful small town feeling about it. The people are great and I absolutely love our pastor. In fact, when we first met him I remember hoping that he would get to baptize our baby one day. Fast forward almost 2 ...
