Family photos are something to be treasured...I know this. Children grow too fast and seasons of our lives seem to be gone in the blink of an eye. So to have those moments captured by a professional is something special. And as a mom who is behind the camera (errr...phone) 99% of the time, I cherish the pictures where all four of us are together. I love a good Christmas card photo or a perfectly posed newborn picture...but I have to say that it's the candid, everyday type photos that are my ...
Wardrobe Game Changer (and a Giveaway Too!)
My biggest wardrobe pet peeve (without a doubt) is a top that's too short. Having a long torso, this has been an issue for me my whole life. Most of the time I don't even consider a top unless it's pretty long--but every once in awhile I'll find a short one that's so cute on the rack that it makes me forget all of my own rules. Then I take it home and instantly remember why I do NOT buy short tops...and I banish it to the back of the closet with all the others. I mean, you'd think I would ...
Weekend Recap
I can't get over how fast this summer seems to be flying by...but I imagine it feels this way because our weekends have been totally cray-cray. We have traveled 3 of the last 4 weekends, and we'll be gone the next 3 as well. See...craziness...but it's all fun stuff, so I'm really not complaining. On Saturday, Arden and I hit the road with my sister, nieces and parents...and we headed to Illinois for one of my cousins' weddings. It was a fun little "girls trip" (plus Papa)...and we made it home ...
What’s in my Pool Bag + SwimZip Love
It's like I blinked and suddenly summer was in full force! The kids and I are loving our lazy mornings with nowhere to be...just moseying down to the pool whenever we get around to it. I might add that having Nash on one nap, instead of two like last year, has made things SO much easier! No more lunchtime sprints to the pool between naps. In other words, it's summer--and life is good. With as much swimming as we've been doing lately, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to pack our pool bag with my ...
The Lake 2016
Every year of my life I've spent the second weekend of June at the Lake of the Ozarks. It's our family reunion and undoubtedly one of the best weekends of the year. We swim, we fish, we eat, we drink, we laugh a lot. The memories I have from this reunion over the years are special to me, and I love that my kids are getting to experience it now. Just today I was thinking how proud my grandparents must be to know that this tradition has carried on without them...and that 18 of their ...
Father’s Day Gift Ideas
While I'm recovering from our weekend of family reunion fun, I wanted to pop in and share some fun Father's Day gift ideas for the dudes in your lives. You know, in case you're like me and have successfully procrastinated until the week of to buy their gift. I just want to make sure it's perfect...you know? ;) 1. Bluetooth Speaker. We have this speaker and it's amazing! It's about the size of a brick, but has the sound of something much bigger and more expensive. We tote it around the house ...
