After a long week of traveling for work, I got back in town just in time for our weekend guests...Whitney and Adam! Friday night consisted of wine and Catch Phrase...a dynamic duo, some would say. Hazel appreciated the fact that we stayed home and hung out with her, and I appreciated the fact that we got to lounge around in our sweatpants on a Friday night! On Saturday the guys played in a golf tournament, so Whit and I made a girls day out of it...and it was glorious! After being total ...
What are we thinking?
Well, it's official….Chris and I are running our first half-marathon on November 14th. Oh wow, my stomach just got a little queasy typing that!Until last week, neither of us had run more than 2 miles since high school. So what is our reasoning for doing this? We're crazy. That's the only thing I can come up with! Okay so actually, I have been flirting with the idea for awhile now and when we heard about this half going on in San Antonio, right around our 1 year anniversary...it just seemed ...
Oh boy!
I got a text message from my sister yesterday that said, "Well, it's boy. Mike can't contain himself." Yep, that's right, these girls are going to have a little brother!!! Unfortunately, I see a lot of games of dress-up in that little boy's future!I know Mike is probably thrilled to even things out in the Carter household. 3 girls and 3 boys…although Milton is somewhat questionable :) Congrats you guys! I absolutely cannot wait to meet the little guy in January! ...
Chris v. Food
This past weekend Chris consumed 1000 calories and 45 grams of fat....in less than 2 minutes. Seriously people. If you watch Man v. Food on the Travel Channel, you may have seen the episode where he traveled to St. Louis to take on "Baseball's Best Burger," served at minor league game. Well, when we got a Groupon deal for "box seats" and free food at a Gateway Grizzlies game, we said why not! So we invited Chris' co-worker, Marcus, and his wife, Molly, to come check it out with us. The ...
A Stroll Down Memory Ln/Todd Rd…
It's not new news--I get a little nostalgic during this time of the year. I love everything about sorority recruitment, aka rush, and I'm not ashamed of it! The matching outfits, the slightly off-tune Pi Phi songs, the smell of Carol's snicker-doodle cookies, and the excitement of Bid Day…it's all amazing! I wish I could be in Manhattan tomorrow for Rush the Alums, but since I can't I thought I'd take you all on a little "stroll down Todd Road". In no particular order, here are some oldies ...
A Letter to Me
My mom called me last week to tell me that there was a letter for me at their house…from me. Weird, huh? I don't really remember writing this, but apparently we did it in my Junior year English class. It looks like our teacher was a little late in sending these out, but it doesn't make it any less hilarious…May 22, 20022 days left in my junior year!Vanessa…(do you still use dots?)Hey, how's life? If you're still in college I hope you are having fun. I bet you're in a sorority at KU - ...
