This may be the quickest posted blog post ever...but hey, 4 hours of driving back to Houston gave me plenty of time to think about all of the things I wanted to say to recap a great weekend. If you can't tell by the title of this post I went to Dallas yesterday. Dallas! Heather was back in town to celebrate the big 2-6 and that was the perfect excuse to make another trip back to D-town. Some of the highlights of the trip…I learned how to DougieHeather looked sassy in her sparkly Taylor Swift ...
Spreading Some Christmas Cheer
There was something very unnatural about decorating for Christmas when it was 80 degrees outside…but I got over it pretty quickly because I love the hoildays. Who doesn't though? Maybe people that don't like puppies or ice cream? So anyway, since I haven't had any grand blogging ideas lately, I thought why not share some pictures of our Christmas decor. Welcome to Casa de Calcara…Christmas style :) The front door featuring my 2 for $20 mini Christmas trees. I'm pretty proud of that deal if ...
Backyardigan
There are a lot of things we love about our new house...but the one that Hazel really loves is the fenced back yard.I was in the office working this morning when I heard her ringing the bell on the back door..."Mom, you're boring me in here...can I go outside? Don't I look cute posing next to our Christmas tree? I'm really only doing it because I refuse to sit on tile...only carpet or tree skirts for this girl. Pleasssse can I go outside?"20 minutes later and she just wasn't ready to come in ...
Still Alive…
I know it's been awhile since I've blogged, so I thought I just check in to let my 4 - 5 avid readers that we're still alive :) Since we spoke last, a LOT has happened. We…Moved into our new house and we love it. It's so cozy and warm…it already feels like home.Had a blast celebrating Thanksgiving with the Huschka's and the O'Connor's. While it was sad not to be in Kansas for the holiday, we had so much fun with these guys and the 75 degree weather wasn't too bad either :) I think we've even ...

How is it possible that it's been an entire year since our wedding?!? Maybe it's cliche, but I really do feel like it was yesterday. While the last 365 days have flown by, quite a bit has happened too. We've moved (twice), changed jobs at work, explored new cities, added a little furry child to our family...and I wouldn't change a minute of it. I am so thankful for Chris. He drives me crazy, but keeps me sane at the same time. He is my best friend and the person that makes me laugh the ...

It's 3 days later and I'm still smiling, thinking about the fact that we're done with the half marathon. :) The whole thing went from a great idea, to the worst idea ever, back to a great idea. Now that it's over I can say I'm really happy we did it. Sure the training was not at all convenient when we were trying to make an out-of-state move, but in the end we survived and we did it without walking. Oh, and Chris wins husband of the year for going "wife-pace" when he probably could've ...
