Okay, so I know you've seen these on every blog out there…totally unoriginal, but I'm proud of myself for A. actually following through with a craft project and B. taking pictures of the finished project to make it somewhat resemble Etsy pictures. It's amazing how much better things look through the lens of my new camera. My mom and I came across this craft idea on a blog we were simultaneously stalking (cool, aren't we?) And then she found some instructions here. By the way, if you ever need ...
Guys Weekend
Chris gets back today from his annual guy's ski trip to Breckenridge. I'm sure they've had a grand ol' time hitting the slopes during the day and reliving their college days at night…but Chris will soon find out that Hazel and I had some fun of our own while he was away.We redecorated! The fact that I haven't had a true color scheme in the living room has been driving me NUTS since we moved in. After a little browsing on the YHL mood board, I decided that this one was perfect and worked with ...
I almost forgot…
Remember this before? This $1 garage sale frame had been moved from Kansas to Illinois and then to Texas…and I knew there was a reason I kept it around.Materials:A little elbow grease to cut the cork board (thanks Chris!)Superglue for repairs. This frame was a little beat up from the moves. Two coats of gold spray paint…and voilà!I've got another crafty project to share with you very soon. They will be the perfect "big sister" gifts :)Happy Wednesday friends! ...
William Augustus
William Augustus joined our family today! At 8lbs 11oz…he's one little hunk o' man! Most importantly, he's as healthy as can be and so is my sister :)My favorite picture…just look at that hair!So far the verdict is that he looks like Maren did as a baby. So of course I had to go back and spend an hour tonight looking at the "Baby Maren" file on my computer. What do you think?Maren even got to hold Will at the hospital tonight. She told me he really liked her…and also that tooted on her. ...
Honky Tonk
Now that we're all settled in at home, I really wanted to make it a goal to get out and explore the city a little more. With so much to do and see, it would be a shame for us to get stuck in our little bubble out west. So as I was browsing this weekend's calendar of events, I came across a Casey Donahew Band concert in Cypress--a town about 30 minutes north of us. I love this band but I really thought it was going to take a lot of convincing to get anyone (including Chris) on board. Luckily ...
Lunchtime.
**Disclaimer: this blog post contains an obsessive amount of Hazel pictures. If you don't think she's cute then you probably don't want to read this! Thanks :)**Lunch hours have taken on a whole new meaning since I started working from home. It only took a couple days for me to realize that a break at noon was definitely going to be necessary. Whether it's a quick trip to the grocery store, a walk around the block with Hazel, or a little Ellen…it really helps me to recharge for the afternoon. ...
