Holiday shopping is in full force and, like most people, I get pretty excited to see those packages showing up on my doorstep (…pretty frequently). But one thing I love just as much is opening up the mailbox and finding pretty little Christmas cards from friends and family. In an emailing, text messaging, facebooking kind of world–there’s just something so neat about receiving REAL cards. Cards that we can hang up and display…and keep to look back at for years to come if we choose.
So if I put that much value into the cards I receive, you know I must be a little crazy about making my own, right?! I mean…would you judge me if I told you I had several Shutterfly designs “favorited” in August? 😉 I couldn’t wait to get our family photos back in November and try them out on different designs. Shutterfly’s “show with my photos” feature is pretty handy when you’re comparing cards…
I ultimately decided on the “Your Truly” design…and I love, love, LOVE the way it turned out!
And the back might be my favorite part…
The past 2 years I’ve decided to have Shutterfly print addresses for me. And let me just tell you: WORTH IT! Of course it’s nice to have extra blank ones on hand (pictured here) for mistakes, new friends, etc…but gosh, not having to write out over a hundred addresses is kind of wonderful! Better yet, my contacts are all stored from last year, so all I had to do was go in and change anyone that had moved. Easy peasy!
You know what else is great? Child labor. Just kidding 😉 Kind of. This year Arden was begging to help me stuff the envelopes…and that sweet girl did every single one. WITHOUT COMPLAINING!!! Which is more than her father has ever done…ha! It was a Christmas miracle!
Before too long we had a nice little assembly line going…and only a few crooked stamps. We got that big stack of holiday happiness out in the mailbox that afternoon–along with a Sonic gift card for our mailman. (Because I’ve seen the look on his face when he opens the mailbox to stacks and stacks of cards!!! ?)
The quality of these cards is great and shipping was fast. I just couldn’t love them more!!!
Today at Shutterfly you can get up to 50% off everything + an additional 25% with the code LUCKYME! It’s not too late to get those cards printed and in the mail! And if you do, make sure you send one to me…okay? 😉
