Well I think I’ve officially hit that summer blogging slump. Anyone else?? I’m hoping that with school starting in a couple of weeks, I’ll get a wave of motivation and jump back on the blogging train! But for now…enjoy my random Five on Fridays, mmkay? 😉
one. Last Saturday we met my parents at the county fair. We scoped out the animals (including the winner of the ugliest chicken division), rode a few rides, sucked down a couple $7 lemonades, and then decided that it was too hot for fair food…so we hit up a nearby Mexican restaurant. All in all, a fun little Kansas country evening!
two. I have a confession: I’m pooled out. At the beginning of every summer we are hardcore pool people…going almost every day, sometimes twice a day (although you couldn’t tell by the color of my skin or Arden’s!) Then I’m over it by late July and we spend our afternoons camped out in the basement–avoiding the sun and the heat. Maybe I’ll take the kids a couple more times before kids day out and pre-k start. Maybe…
three. I feel like I’ve been searching my whole adult life for the perfect “everyday tee”. Something long, flattering, and comfortable. I mean, is that too much to ask? Well not anymore, because I finally found it!!!! When the two I ordered arrived on Wednesday, I immediately ordered two more…because I loved them that much!!!
It’s kind of hard to see the detail in this picture because of the color of the shirt…but it’s a really soft, vintage material that reminds me of some of my favorite old t-shirts (only not embarrassing looking!!) I got a tall medium, but probably could do a small as well. I just like the baggy relaxed fit!
Anyway, believe me when I say you NEED this shirt!!!!
four. A few days ago, we met my mom and sister out at the Arboretum to check out their Enchanted Forest exhibit. The fairy houses were super cute, but holy moly it was HOT. So if you’ve got plans to go, my advice would be: don’t bother showering beforehand 😉
five. Raise your hand if you are SO ready for college football?!? (ME!!!!!!) I can’t wait for crisp fall air and weekends in Manhattan!!! I’m so getting this shirt…in purple, of course!
Have a great weekend, friends!!!

I love that you are pooled out. I think I’m almost there, but I love that going completely tires my kiddos out and Emmy naps without a fuss. Score! Ours is only open during the week for another week, then it’s only weekends until labor day. It has been so hot recently all I want to do is be in the pool or in the AC. I love the shirts you shared. Adorable!

I’m so over the heat of summer too. One day it will be nice to just walk outside and not start dripping and be in need of an immediate shower. I was just telling my husband the other day that I am so ready for Fall and college football! I cannot wait. Love those crisp fall days and football just makes it all the better. It won’t be too much longer until we get to go to some of those football games in Manhattan too! So excited!

It’s funny cause I’m still loving going to the pool! We didn’t go often in June because school ends late here and it didn’t have full hours til the end of the month. Then July was filled with camps and day trips. So August is my lets go to the pool all day month!

I’m over the FL heat by April and then it never ends. We don’t get much of a heat break but I’ll take any drop in temps! Love both shirts!

I had to go back to work this week but I feel ya on the pooled out thing. I seriously started feeling that way about a week ago, I was just kind of like “do we have to?” haha!
Love that shirt, but it’s sold out in like every size 🙁

And now I’m buying a new t! Thanks! 🙂

The county fair was on my list but my 9 year old decided it would be too boring. We did the Enchanted Forest and I agree it was sooo hot! But cute!

The county fair looked pretty dang adorable…and fun! The heat is definitely intense. I’m not gonna lie…Fall is looking pretty sweet right now 😉

I HAVE THAT SHIRT IN GRAY!!! I could seriously wear it everyday and just might this fall! It’s the absolute best fit. My runner up tees are the crew neck ones from VS Pink.
Also I really want fair food now.

I want a fairy forest just for me! And hell yeah to college football! My cousin is a wide receiver for Texas Tech! I can’t get enough.

Well now I’ll be buying that shirt in every color, thank you very much! And that arboretum exhibit looks so cool!
