My biggest wardrobe pet peeve (without a doubt) is a top that’s too short. Having a long torso, this has been an issue for me my whole life. Most of the time I don’t even consider a top unless it’s pretty long–but every once in awhile I’ll find a short one that’s so cute on the rack that it makes me forget all of my own rules. Then I take it home and instantly remember why I do NOT buy short tops…and I banish it to the back of the closet with all the others. I mean, you’d think I would learn!
Well one evening I was making the rounds on Instagram and came across a shop called Classic Dianne that makes shirt and dress extenders. A few minutes of research and I knew this was the wardrobe solution I’d been looking for FOREVER! Let me just show you how…
On the left you’ll see my t-shirt by itself. I know everyone is different, but for me, this is too short. I like to have a little more coverage (especially since I’m up and down with the kids all day) but for the most part, I just don’t think it’s a flattering length on my body type. Enter the Classic Dianne scalloped lace extender…and voila! A few extra inches of length, and some cute detail for an outfit that now looks far more put together.
One of the things I love about the Classic Dianne design is that it’s worn around your waist and not part of a tank top or camisole. It’s less bulky and easier to adjust the length by moving or rolling it up and down.
Pretty great, right? Well just wait–there’s more 🙂 This swiss dot sheer top is one of my all-time favorites, but it’s been sitting in my closet for years because it’s just too darn short. Well it was, anyway! I love the way the asymmetrical extender compliments the top and turns this into a whole new outfit.
Since receiving my first two extenders, I’ve been amazed at how many tops I’ve been able to revive from the “too short” section of my closet. And some tops can be worn with many different extenders, which makes them look like totally different outfits altogether. Next I want to add the black lace, knit, and fringe extenders to my collection!
So raise your hand if you could use some shirt or dress extenders in your life?!? Well I’m sooooo excited to be teaming up with Classic Dianne to give one away this week! The winner gets to chose an extender of their choice…all you have to do is use the rafflecopter widget below to enter. The contest will close Sunday, June 26th, with the winner being announced the next day.

Omg those are awesome!! I’m with you on a long torso so shirts that seem like they’ll work don’t and it’s just annoying. I love the scallop on you are wearing.
chelsea jacobs says
I have one of these and LOVE it!
Luanne Lane says
This is a brilliant idea! Love this!
Dara says
Those are really cute! I have a problem with shirts being short because my chest is too large. 😐 My favorite on the site is the black and white asymmetrical and I also like that they have skirt extenders!
francyface says
I have the long torso problem too! So many shirts that don’t quite reach where I want them to! The two that you modeled are my favorites – they both would go with so much! But if I could only get one, I guess I would have to go with the scalloped lace – it would make any shirt a little dressier 🙂
Sabrina says
OMG, these are perfect!!!

I have this problem, too! Even with a short torso. I think most shirts are just made shorter these days. But this, this is a total game changer. It’s adorable and functional. Love it!

I’m 5’10” and tops are always too short, so frustrating!! What a fun option to add to those tops. They look great on you!! I like the asymmetrical one, or just plain knit for me (I know I’m boring)..!! Ha!! 🙂

I need allllll of them! Gah! So stinking cute. I do the same thing with my short shirts. To the back of the closet they go or I give them away (gasp!). Never again!
Elizabeth says
Can I just say that they are all my favorite?!?! I NEED this in my life!
I’m so with you on shirts being too short. That is m ultimate pet peeve. I hate most when they’re fine when I try them on, wear them, and then wash them and NOW they’re too short. Ugh. Annoying. That’s why I hang dry almost all my clothes… I want the length!
These are genius. I LOVE how they make your outfit look so put together. I’m also a sucker for layering (even when it’s 100 out – I’m crazy) so this is right up my alley!
Ashley says
