Happy Thursday, friends! This is our “Music class–>Chick-fil-A–>maybe a Target run if we can squeeze it in” day…and we look forward to it every week. Plus Thursdays are just great in general. It’s like you can almost taste the weekend…am I right?!?
Well today I’m back with another stop on our home tour! It’s actually a couple of small stops…
First up is our pantry/office/mudroom combo room. Sounds weird, right? I thought so too when I first saw it in the model. Then I realized that it was actually ingenius! The room is right off of our kitchen and the first thing you see when you walk in from the garage. But seeing as how pantries, mudrooms and desks tend to get messy, I love the fact that we can just shut the door when we need to. I’m all about the “out of sight, out of mind” strategy from time to time!
As you can see, I’m also allllll about keeping things out of Nash’s reach. Ha! Oh and these pictures were taken on a day that I desperately needed to go to the grocery store!!! I promise my pantry isn’t always this bare…or this organized.
Our pantry in Texas wasn’t a walk-in, so to have this much space is still kind of surreal to me. We even have an entire extra set of shelves for crafts and other miscellaneous items–which is great! I just love having a “catch all” space like this on the main floor.
And now: my desk! I always say it’s a little dangerous to blog in your pantry…but I’m learning to exercise some self-control (most of the time). And don’t you worry about messes being made. I have easy access to a hand vac 😉
This is my nap time happy place.
And you know I’ve been excited to share this with you. Our little mudroom area with a touch of shiplap! I’m planning on sharing the full tutorial next week, but I’m just so happy with the way it turned out. It’s amazing how something so simple can make such a big difference in a space!
Love, love, love.
Stay tuned for all the details on this little project!!
Now onto the most difficult space to photograph: our first floor powder room. No windows and not a lot of space means I came away with one decent picture. You probably get the gist though, right?! I once had big plans to wallpaper this room with a dark pattern, but then I decided to paint the cabinets gray…and now I’m feeling like that would be a bit overkill on the dark colors. Another idea I’ve toyed around with is painting the walls in Sea Salt. We have some leftover cans in the basement from our master bathroom…so who knows, it might just happen one weekend if I get a wild hair.
And that, my friends, is all I’ve got for now! Thanks for following along…and understanding that my house only looks this clean for A. guests or B. home tours on the blog. 😉 Happy almost-Friday y’all!

We struggled do much when we moved to our house with not having a mudroom. Our next house must have one! Love how yours is multi purpose! Your ship lap looks awesome!

Your powder room ? And ALLLL that space in the pantry and desk, perfect! Oh and the ship lap….I would put more heart eyes, but don’t want you to think I’m cray! But the pictures of Nash at the end hard at work, top it all off!

What a lovely pantry! Our house seriously lacks pantry space. Ugh! And the fact that you even have a desk in yours is quite amazing. For the love of shiplap! I am ready to tackle some shiplap projects around our home.

Beautiful! I can’t wait to read all about your fun mudroom & shiplap project!!

I love it!
My naptime happy place is my infamous yellow IKEA chair in the living room :p
And I’m a total wild hair painter. When I get the inspiration I have to seize the moment or it will never happen.

I love the built in desk! My nap time happy place is no where near that cute! It’s a desk, just not quite as functional as yours. hah. That is a huge pantry! Such a clever use of space to combine all of those into one room. Before baby boy came along [and we moved his crib into the laundry room – poor boy-] my desk was in the laundry room. it was my happy place. 🙂 Nap time is my favorite!

LOVE it. Especially your walk in pantry…we currently don’t have a pantry (not sure how were living) but this makes me insanely jealous.
Courtney says
haha clean for guests and blog posts lol. Amen.
Love the pretty tiles in the bath, and the combo desk by pantry. Definitely need some self control in there.

And the shiplap – swooning! What a perfect piece!
