Hey there party people–it’s Friday! We’re getting ready for a fun day and weekend ahead, but first I wanted to pop in and share some randomness. I will always love these Friday posts because they give all of those random thoughts inside my head a place to go. So let’s get started, shall we?
one.
At least one person in my house has been sick every day since Saturday (lovely, right?)…which means we’ve spent a lot of time at home….which means we’re all going a little cray-cray. I’ve just been really struggling lately to find things at home that both Arden and Nash want to do. Arden is such an activity-loving kind of kid. As soon as she wakes up in the morning or from her “rest time” she wants to know what’s next…and she’s always hoping that it’s a craft. Nash obviously just isn’t there yet. He wants to be up doing whatever Arden’s doing, but if I let him try it inevitably ends with paint brushes flying through the air or beads in his mouth. And if I try to modify the activity for him he wants nothing to do with it…because he’s a big kid too, you know. On the other hand, when we’re just playing, Arden wants more structure. She’ll try to get out Uno or Memory and then Nash bulldozes through the cards like he’s sliding into home plate. By the end everyone is crying…especially me.
Does anyone have suggestions for indoor activities that both kids can enjoy?
two.
Lately I’ve been browsing the internet for a new coffee table for our living room. We have this large ottoman in front of the couch because we thought it would be a safer option until Nash got really good on his feet. Well, he’s been walking steadily for 7 months now and I’m ready for a place to put my drinks! I’d like to relocate the ottoman and get a coffee table like this one or this one. Which do you like better? (I bet you guess which one my husband will choose…ha!)
three.
I can’t get enough of the Meghan Trainor Pandora station right now. Note to those of you out there with sick, cranky kids this week: blast this and everyone will be happy and dance…for at least 30 seconds.
four.
I ordered these Nike tennis shoes for Arden last week, but when they came they were actually this style (which I hadn’t even seen while shopping). Whoever made the mistake must have known that the little girl getting them was Frozen-obsessed! She calls them her “Elsa shoes” and wants to wear them every day 🙂 Also, Chris took one look at her in this outfit and said, “you look just like your mom”. Yep, that’s my uniform.
five.
It may be 4 months later, but Nash’s camping themed first birthday party is up for “Party of the Month” on Project Nursery! I don’t even know why I try so hard to win these things (oh wait, yes I do…it’s because a $50 Visa gift card is like GOLD to a stay at home mom). So if you wouldn’t mind clicking over here and voting for “Camp Nash” I would so appreciate it! We’re in 2nd place but trailing big time, so feel free to vote every day if you’d like! 😉 😉 Thanks friends!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
XO

Oh the sickness is so rough especially this time of year when we all really need to get out more but can’t. Hoping everyone gets healthy soon!

I too struggle with indoor activities with both the kids. For this reason we spend most of our days out of the house. At home we just casually play, and then use Naptime and late evenings for more structured activities with Liam.

Julia can’t do much of anything and I struggle with things to do with two kids. If you discover any great ideas please share!
Voted for Camp Nash!
