I’m finally getting around to sharing some pictures of Arden’s big girl room. And by finally I mean 8 months later. Whoops! Better late than never though…right?!
When we moved into our house a year and a half ago, we tried to recreate Arden’s nursery to keep things familiar and comfortable for her. Then after Nash was born and we had a handle on the rest of the home decor, I got an itch to start working on Arden’s room. She requested pink walls and then I kind of ran with the rest…because I’m pretty sure I won’t get many chances to decorate her space in the years to come!
Our original plan was to convert Arden’s crib into a queen bed, but it didn’t take me long to realize that was going to be an expensive task. A little piece of advice to new parents buying a convertible crib: fork out some money to buy the side rails at the same time, or you might find out they’ve been discontinued and will cost you almost as much as the crib 3 years later!! Needless to say, we completely changed routes and decided to use my old bedroom set that had been in my parents’ basement for years. My dad painted the bed and dresser white, added some new hardware, and voila! It was like new. It really did work out for the best…I just think a sleigh bed in a little girl’s room is the sweetest thing ever!
My goal for this space was pretty simple: light, airy, and feminine–but still bold. I really do love the way it turned out.
I’m pretty sure Chris thought I was nutso when I asked him to paint some antlers and mount them on the wall…above our daughter’s bed. However, he knows better than to argue with me about decorating 😉
They are by far my favorite accessory in the room!
I love a good gallery wall…especially really girly ones with gold, flowers and hearts!
We were able to reuse a lot of the things from Arden’s nursery, including the bookshelves and a few trinkets here and there.
When we finished her room back in May, I had no idea how quickly the little toddler moving into it would turn into a full-blown “big girl”. I mean, just look at her…
A glimpse into the teenager years, I’m sure.
I can’t forget Arden’s favorite spot in the room–the dollhouse corner. This is where she spends most of her “nap time” these days. Meanwhile, I listen to her on the monitor and laugh hysterically at her crazy imagination.
Where does the time go? I feel like I was just working on this girl’s nursery! Next thing I know we’ll be decorating her dorm room (cue the tears!!)

Oh I adore it!!!! I as going to ask the paint color but I see you sourced it. If we are ever blessed with a little girl (I hope someday) I love this pink because it is light, airy and just girly enough!!!! Gorgeous job!

So pretty! I love the subtle color on the walls! The pictures with Arden doing her makeup are adorable. Definitely a glimpse into the teenager years! Except, we won’t be allowed in their rooms I’m sure lol.

I LOVE everything about this!!! It turned out great!
We recently transitioned Mason to a big boy bed (twin bed) from his toddler bed. But, like you, we didn’t buy any of the stuff to make the transition before we wanted to actually do it. Seriously, who knew? I had to find the toddler rail on some random website and it cost significantly more than I intended to spend. So when it came to trying to find the pieces to make it a real bed, we decided to just get rid of it and opt for a new bed. Mason LOVES it though so I think I made the right choice. Although he looks too much like a big boy in it now and it’s making me sad!

Can I just tell you…. I have a 2 and a half year old son and as soon as we found out I was pregnant with the next one, we went to buy the rails for his convertible crib only to find that they no longer carry them? Ugh!!! So now we are either going to have to contact the parent company (Munire) to see if they have any available that are compatible or just throw in the towel and buy him a new bed and pass the old crib down to the next one. Which we’ll probably end up doing because we’re having another boy. We didn’t think to buy the rails at the time because I didn’t want the spend the money in case he destroyed the crib. Kind of regretting that decision now. So i feel your pain! Luckily you had an awesome back up plan! Love the sleigh bed!

I love it! We’re hopefully buying a house this summer, so I’ve been gleaning ideas for our “big girls’ room”. Arden’s nursery was darling too. It’s hard to believe how fast our kids grow up!

I absolutely love her room! Especially the gallery wall and antlers! And that bed is so perfect for a little girl! I was looking for something similar when I put together my daughter’s big girl room, but I had no luck. My daughter also has that toy makeup kit – isn’t it the cutest? She loves it!

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. From the curtains, to the bed, to the antlers, and gallery wall, it is the perfect little girls room.
*When* we move back I’m going to beg you to be our interior designer. 🙂
