Last night, Arden and I were lucky enough to enjoy a little “date night” at the newest Pie Five restaurant in Overland Park. This location is the fifth one in the KC area opened by my sweet friend, Lyssa, and her family. We were pumped to be able to check it out a couple of days before their grand opening…and the event raised proceeds for Children Mercy Hospitals, which made it that much cooler.
So I guess I should just come out and say it…I’m obsessed with Pie Five. It has quickly become my favorite pizza place in town and I’m already thinking about when we can go back again. Not only do you get to build your own personal pizza (which is fantastic since no one in my family likes the same crust or toppings), but the ingredients they use are all-natural and fresh, and the whole process takes about five minutes. I love that it’s the kind of place we could stop for a quick dinner with the kids…or go by ourselves and enjoy pizza and a beer on the patio.
Our PF friends made Arden feel like a true VIP. She said “Hey, that’s my name!”
My picky princess settled on her trusty “cheese only”, and I had a mix of veggies with an olive oil sauce. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture until after I inhaled the first piece. Whoops!
But seriously. SO. GOOD.
The cheese pizza was totally Arden-approved. So was the Hi-C she got from the Freestyle machine…which probably explains why she was head-banging to “Shake It Off” in my backseat on the way home. #sugarhigh
As if all that wasn’t enough, miss Arden scored an awesome Pie Five slap bracelet too. I have literally never heard her laugh the way she did when she slapped it on her wrist…she thought it was the coolest thing ever!!
We may have only been away from home for an hour, but this little getaway with my girl was exactly what I needed. We laughed and goofed around while enjoying the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. And when I asked Arden what she thought Daddy and Nash were doing, she chuckled and said, “probably just sitting at home”. Girls rule!
Today I’m so excited to give away a $40 gift card to be used at any Pie Five restaurant in the KC area! Just use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter and I’ll announce the winners on Monday, August 10th!
In other fun freebie news, the Pie Five crew is giving away 4 tickets to Frozen on Ice at their grand opening event tomorrow! So KC peeps, hop on over to the new store at 91st & Metcalf tomorrow to get yourself some tasty food–and a chance to see Anna & Elsa at the end of the month!!!
A special thanks to Lyssa and her team for making this giveaway possible and for treating us to such a fun time last night! I’m so proud of you, my friend! You guys have worked extremely hard to bring great food to KC…and you’ve definitely made it happen!

What a fun little mommy/daughter date!!
My in-laws live super close to Pie Five, and we love that spot!
Between my meat-loving husband, my cheese-only son, and non-meat-eating self, it's perfect for all of us to grab exactly what we like. A gift card would be amazing to use during our visits back home!!
