Those who know Arden well, know that she has a fierce love for powdered donuts. A love so defining that when my friend Amber asked that Arden be a part of her Life as Art photography project, I immediately knew the scenario and the environment. Powdered donuts in the kitchen…of course 🙂
The concept behind Amber’s project is simple but unique…and one that spoke to my memory-capturing heart. The idea is to photograph life as it happens. To capture those little things about our children that we never want to forget…and then display them where they happened. A toddler splashing in his bubble bath, a baby learning to play with her toes…and in our case–Arden getting messy with her breakfast of choice.
We had a great time playing around with Amber one morning in December. Our little model was in absolute heaven as she was allowed (even encouraged!) to eat her weight in donuts.
And the results were pretty fantastic, if you ask me…
Her blonde eyelashes, powdered sugar fingers, wispies on her forehead…and the glow of the christmas tree in the back. These things make my heart swell!
Bliss.
More than once strangers have asked if she lost a front tooth. Nope…that’s just a really large gap…and I love it.
“All for me??”
The only thing better than seeing these pictures for the first time, was seeing them on canvases in our kitchen. Love, love, love!
Friends, if you’re in the KC area and interested in a Life as Art session, hop on over and visit Amber. She’s just as sweet as she is talented 🙂
Thank you Amber for capturing these *sweet* moments! 🙂

Wow! This is so cute! I've done the same with Wyatt, except in the bath. I'm planning to hang them in his bathroom, once I get some of his sister too. Wouldn't it be fun to do this for every room?? hmm….
