Well it’s about time that I share these pictures that my sweet friend Ali took for us…almost 6 weeks ago! I wish I could say it was a perfect, blissful morning full of joy and laughter…but the truth is, it was far from it. I was stressed to the max, my armpits were sweating like a teenage boy’s, Nash refused to fall asleep (even though he’d spent his whole life sleeping up until this point), and Arden…oh Arden…she was a disaster with a capital D. I know she didn’t wake up thinking, “Today, I’m going to sabotage Nash’s pictures”…but it kind of felt that way 😉 We offered everything under the sun to get her to cooperate for a few shots, but even the promise of ICE CREAM couldn’t get the toddler mess express under control.
However…by some miracle, Ali put up with us AND got some amazing pictures. Even though the chaos of that morning is burned into my brain, these sweet pictures are a reminder that underneath it all there is a whole lot of love.
I mean…just look at those faces. I can’t handle it.
Chris likes to call these pictures “Ebony & Ivory”
This little peanut. He looks so different already!
I spy Hazel…
The smile!
This must be what it feels like to stare into a mirror 🙂
Thank you, Ali!

First, they are AMAZING!!!! Such a beautiful family you have, Vanessa!!! They truly are adorable, they do look so different, but equally as cute!!! Second, what a funny story (I guess now!)!! Sounds exactly like something that will probably happen to me in approximately 6 months … 😉

I feel your pain-our newborn shoot for Liam went very similarly! Your photographer got some really amazing shots though-I love them all. And can I just mention your hair? It looks flawless!!!

Beautiful pictures! You look amazing and I love your hair! He is just precious and isn't it so funny how different one child is from the other?! My 2 are nothing alike but it's so fun.

They are so perfect and everyone looks amazing. It made me remember how Kenley refused to sleep at her newborn shoot which was also like the first time she didn't sleep. Love how you say must be like looking into the mirror about chris and nash, but hello?! you should know with Arden!!!

You look beautiful, and these pictures are amazing!!! Cam's newborn session was a disaster, so I am glad to hear we weren't the only ones!! However, these pictures are just perfect….you have to frame them all!! 🙂

Ok. These don't look like "worst morning ever" pictures ONE SINGLE BIT. They're stunning. And adorable. And you look sensational. And Arden and Nash are perfection!

You would never know it was a rough morning! Having to have your whole family ready for pictures, keep a toddler somewhat still, a newborn fed and happy, PLUS have your house ready to be the backdrop HAD to be a bit much to handle though, I'm sure! I think they were worth it, though. 🙂 And you are making me want that headboard of yours more and more!
Jessica says
Ebony and Ivory….bahahaha…Love it! Seriously though, you were able to get the most beautiful pictures. No one can tell there was madness behind them
Carolyn says
These are all so ADORABLE!!! You would never know of the chaos that happened.

Your family is gorgeous perfection!!! Wow! So happy for you. And that's the best part of pictures – you capture the sweet side so you can forget the stress in the months to come. 🙂

Awe, sweet friend! You rocked them, and it will always be the best story to hang over Arden's head when she's older and a mama of her own. Love you!

There is SO much cuteness in these pictures I can't stand it! And you look AMAZING!!!

First – I love the name Nash. So unique while being such a strong, masculine name.
Second – love your glider/rocker and headboard. Where are those from? Would love to copy for my own home…
