During one of Chris’ work trips last month I told Arden, “it’s just you and me, babe”. It’s since become one of her favorite phrases when we’re alone. She’ll randomly stop whatever she’s doing and say: “it’s just meeee and youuuu, momma!”
For the last 25.5 months, we’ve been a pair. She’s my sidekick, my constant companion, my joy…and I’d be lying if I said my heart didn’t sink a little to think about that changing. I love this girl so much and so whole-heartedly that it’s just hard to wrap my mind around her not being my only one.
That being said, I know it’s going to happen. This new little blessing–just like his sister–will create space in my heart that I didn’t even know was there. I’ll love him just as fiercely…and it will be amazing.
But until then, I’ve got plans. Plans to play, to love, and to soak up every minute with my first.

My sweet friend Ali took these for us, and I couldn’t love them more. I mentioned before that I was kind of hesitant about doing “maternity” pictures the second time around…I mean, I already know what I look like pregnant…but something about the way she captured our family of 3 {about to become a family of 4} is just so special. I’m so happy we did it!
Thank you, Ali for these gifts! And for making me look a million times better than I do in real life. I’ll take it!!! 😉

Love these, so gorgeous. And I know the feeling you are speaking of, I felt the same way. But just as I was told, I love my second more than I ever imagined and that didn't take any love away from my first. Your heart truly does double.

Great pictures and you are just beautiful pregnant! I was the same way when I was expecting my second. I could not fathom how life would look or how I could love another child as much as I love my son. But you just do. It just happens and you fall in love with them immediately.
