How do you measure the success of a 2nd birthday party? Well if it happens to be by ‘number of donuts consumed by the guest of honor’, then I’d say Arden’s party was the best little shindig of all time!!!! I’m not kidding when I say the girl ate her weight in pastries…but isn’t that what birthdays are about, after all?!
The big day started off with an early-morning donut pickup (thanks Chris!)…and of course, balloons in bed. Pure joy for the birthday girl!!!
The joy continued as Arden finally got to put on the donut dress she’d been admiring in her closet for weeks. Lately wardrobe and diaper changes have been a struggle at our house…but when I asked her if she was ready to change into her donut dress–she couldn’t get up the stairs fast enough!
Can you really blame her for loving it though?
I have to say, a donut-themed party has to be one of the easiest to pull off…ever. All you need are donuts, fruit, and some really crafty friends 🙂
I owe all of the amazing party decor to Morgan and her Etsy shop, Pink Antlers. She truly saved the day with all of these adorable paper creations. I think they completely pulled the party together and gave it a little extra sparkle! So a huge thanks to Morgan for making me look like I had my act together!!! Ha!
I may never take this banner down…

Funny story about the balloons. When I went to pick them up at the grocery store on Friday afternoon, I told the woman working that I was there for the “TWO” balloons. She was so relieved and said, “oh good, I did it right! I was hoping it was TWO, not TOM!” Ha! Now that would’ve made for some pretty amazing party pics!

We set up picnic tables for all of the little guests, which included some darling placemat favors made by my sweet and talented friend, Emily, at Dear Owen & Co. I just love them!!!
Oh and recognize that picnic table? It was a birthday gift from Arden’s grandma and grandpa…that we put to use immediately!

Emily was so sweet to customize the placemats for the party guests…and she even included a “build your own cake” activity on the backside, which went perfectly with the other part of the favors–“Arden’s donut dough”.
And just so everyone knew they were in the right place… 🙂
Someone couldn’t wait for the guests to arrive…those powdered donuts were WAY too tempting.
Finally, here are some party pics from the donut shop fun!
Evie & Arden…buds!
Excuse me, Evie, while I stuff this donut hole in my mouth!
Arden’s biggest cousin (aka soul sister), Maren, had to come a little late because of soccer practice. I just wish I’d gotten a video of Arden’s reaction when she arrived! The love these two have for each other is unreal!
I’m not sure if she’s thinking about the candle or just contemplating which bite she’s going to take first 😉
“We did it!”
Presents galore…
There were lots of “wows” and “oh my goodnesses” from the birthday girl as she opened all of her awesome gifts!
There were some serious moments too.
(Oh hey, Olaf)
It’s safe to say, our little two-year old was feeling the love on her big day.
And just because I’m obsessed with this picture.
Jack is pumped, Will is not impressed…and oh, there’s Olaf again 🙂
It was such a *sweet* day at Arden’s donut shop! A fun and simple celebration for our favorite little two-year-old. ( < — I suppose I have to start calling her that now?!?)
And now I think it’s time for a sugar-detox 🙂

I may be stealing this idea…I used the donuts for a dessert for his "class" last year (http://laneroad.blogspot.com/2014/03/friday-five-will-is-one-edition.html) …but, I may have to go all out this year! 🙂

Who did the adorable play dough labels? That would be perfect for my son’s birthday but I can’t find them on Etsy (it looks like Dear Owen & Co is on vacation right now so I can’t see much from their site).
Thanks so much! It’s a darling party!!!!
