Clearly I’m lacking some creative blog titles right now…clearly!
“Stuff” just seemed like the best description of this mid-week hodgepodge.
Or maybe I should just call it 6 on Wednesday? 🙂
Anyway, here goes!
ONE.
We got to “meet” our new kitchen countertops last week…and let’s just say it was LOVE at first sight 🙂
I can’t wait to see it installed on this island. I might actually sleep here for a few days once we move in…
But speaking of moving in, I got the call yesterday that we’re delayed another week. Can I get a big thumbs down? 🙁 I guess my need to have everything white is delaying the painters…apparently enamel is a much slower process than staining. So our beginning of July move-in date is now the end of July…it’s a bummer, but I know it’ll be worth the wait!
Things are still moving along though! Arden and I swung by yesterday after swimming with some friends and found the walls had their first coat of paint on them. So far I’m loving the main color that we chose throughout the house. The perfect “greige”!
And don’t you worry–Arden only stuck her hand in wet paint once 😉
This was after I had wiped it off, but I guess she just didn’t feel clean…
TWO.
I have to say, being home and close to family has been pretty awesome so far. Over the weekend we went to Arden’s second cousin’s birthday party and had a blast! We will definitely be making more visits to the Hurtig “Beach” this summer 🙂
Violet & Arden…something tells me these two are going to be partners in crime some day 🙂
THREE.
I won something!!!
I pretty much wanted everything on the site, but I finally decided on this adorable navy trellis dress for Arden. A great look to kick off the 4th on July, am I right?!?
I seriously love this dress…it’s such great quality–so soft and comfy! Plus it arrived in about 3 days! I’ll definitely be a return Sugarbit customer…I’m already eyeing some clothes for the little guy 🙂

FIVE.
This will be my last post this week (and the only one if you were keeping track–ha!) because today we’re heading to one of the greatest places on earth. No, not Manhattan (KS) this time…it’s Iowa! It’s been a 4th of July tradition since before I was born, and I’m so excited for Arden to go back and experience this sweet little hometown celebration for the second time.
I mean, how cute was this little firecracker last year?!?
You can expect an update and a whooooole lotta pictures next week 🙂

I love perfect greige! That's what we have in our home now and we tryed a lot of colors before finding this wonderful shade!! I will go with it again in our new home!

You won't ever even remember the extra time you had to wait on your house once you're actually in! It looks so gorgeous! I've never read (or even thought) much about building a house new, but reading a little about your experience has me really interested.
