Hey, didn’t I promise you some sappy posts before heading back to Kansas? 🙂
This past weekend our sweet friends gave us a little “see you later” party and it was so very special. Of course, the bonus is that we still get to see them several times this week before we leave…thank goodness!!!
But before I get to the party, let me just say a few things about these girls…
I truly believe that God puts the right people in our lives at the right time…and these 4 have been a true testimony of that in my life. We’ve celebrated the good times, leaned on each other during the hard times, and just tried to navigate this crazy road of motherhood together. Sometimes I don’t know how I could’ve done it without them…or our constant, never-ending group text 🙂 We cover everything from diaper rashes to The Bachelor–and Meagan keeps us all in line by reminding us of important dates 😉 I just hope they’ll still include me every once in awhile after I leave!!!
The hardest part about leaving Texas is leaving these girls and their kiddos (and their weird husbands too, I guess!) I know our friendships will be life-long, but I’m sure going to miss our everyday companionship. The play dates, the late night chats, the “watch” parties where we never even glanced at the TV…my heart hurts to think about leaving all of that. But just as I know that God had a plan bringing these girls into my life, I trust in His plan for the next chapter of our friendships as well. AND I’ll just have to start planning my trips back…plus our annual group trip 😉
Love you girls!
Okayyyy….now that I’ve gone through a whole box of tissues, let’s move on to the party pictures, shall we?!?
Chris and I were so surprised and blown away by this basket full of Texas goodness. I’m telling you, these girls are so thoughtful–they thought of everything! A Texas canvas, a t-shirt for Arden and a onesie for the new babe, bluebonnet seeds to plant at our new house, Becker Vineyards wine, some of Chris’ favorite TX brews, a Circle E candle… and best of all, the sweetest photo book documenting all of our fun together. Looking through the pages of that book (and trying not bawl my eyes out) just confirmed everything for me…Texas has been so good to us.
Now how about some cute kiddos? 🙂
And of course, Arden just couldn’t resist the chance to wear Henry’s hat. A flirting tactic, I’m sure!
Thank you friends for an amazing evening! We love you guys!!!

What great friends! Although it's always hard to leave a place you've called home, I always remind myself how lucky I am to have people/reasons that make it hard to leave. Best of luck with preparing for your big move. Can't wait to follow along with this new chapter for your family!
