Morning friends–and happy FRIDAY!!!!
I’m joining my sweet friend Darci (who I’m missing so much right now–wahhh!) for another edition of Five on Friday. I’ve had so much to blog about lately, but about 30 seconds a day to do it…so this is the perfect way to get it all out there while I work on getting my act together 😉
ONE.
Thank you all SO very much for your input on lighting this week…and for dealing with my last-minute decorating panic attack!!! 🙂 I’m happy to report that I left the meeting feeling super excited about the selections I’d made! Here’s the look we went with…
Wrought iron for the win! The pieces I chose are all more black than bronze–so I feel like they’ll flow with our color scheme, but also pop a little bit. Here’s hoping anyway! Thanks again for all of your help and suggestions…in the end, they made me confident that we couldn’t go wrong either way!
TWO.
It may have been a short week, but it was a pretty fantastic one for Arden. Not only were her cousins staying with us (their parents were off at some beach in Mexico making the rest of us jealous!), but she got to spend time with her #1 boyfriend, Henry–all the way from Texas!!!! We took the kiddos to a local farmstead/petting zoo and they picked up right where they’d left off…playing like they’d never been apart. I guess it’s only been a few weeks, but still… 🙂
The following day, I even got to take Emily out to see our new house and walk through the model. Just having Henry and his sweet mom in Kansas made my heart so happy! We love that family and are so happy their Kansas roots will be bringing them back for many more visits!!!! How many days until football season?! 😉
THREE.
Today is this guy’s last day of work after 6 years with a great company…a bittersweet day for sure!
I’m so proud of Chris for all he’s accomplished at COP, and I’m just so excited for what’s in store for him as he starts his new career in KC. He works so hard for us and I couldn’t be more thankful for that.
Now the countdown is on until he arrives in Kansas tomorrow! We can’t wait!!!!
FOUR.
There’s nothing happier than 4 kiddos walking to the pool for the first time of the season. There’s also nothing sadder than their faces when you tell them they can’t swim because some teenage boys pooped in the neighborhood pool as a prank (um, gross!) Or according to Norah, they did their “big job”. HA! Luckily, the kids were happy to play in my sister’s backyard with the sprinkler. Maybe we can try the pool again next week? 🙂
FIVE.
The most exciting part of the week? Seeing this little miracle on screen again. I can’t stop staring at that sweet profile! God is so SO good!
We DID find out the gender, but I’m waiting on my silly scratch-off cards (which seemed like a much better idea when I ordered them a month ago!!!!) to arrive in some out-of-town mailboxes! I can’t wait to share the news though!!!!! Eeeeek!
Happy weekend blog world! Hope it’s a great one!
XOXO

Love all the happy faces and yay for the wrought iron! You inspired me to also plug the trigger on the lantern fixture which I have been mulling over that last year 🙂

Scratch-off cards! I love that idea — it's so much fun! I can't believe a teenage pooped in the pool. That is disgusting. I hope he got what he deserved in way of being grounded!! Hope you have a great weekend with your family all together again!

This might be my favorite post on the internet. Ever.
HURRY UP MAILMAN. HURRY UP OR I WILL LOSE MY MIND!
And I'm loving the look of all of our lighting….. I'll have to read up on that post! We have to buy most all of ours separately since I'm not a fan at all of the builder's selections.
And I'm missing you too! Something fierce. So glad that your sweet HOU friends were in Kansas, so you got a good dose of friendship from "home"…. I bet that's weird now referring to Houston (since you are in fact "home" now). Anyway…
Miss your face and am so thankful for modern technology so we can keep up like we do! XO. Can't wait to get the big news today (hopefully)!

I want to hear more about these scratch off cards! It sounds like such a fun way to share the news. How far along are you now? And congrats to your hubby on his last day! With my husband working in a very similar field with a somewhat similar company (Bechtel), I know how hard these guys work. So what a huge accomplishment to him- and to your whole family! Cheers to moving on to even bigger and better things!!
