As I write this, it’s Thursday night and we are passing through Gainsville, Texas–on our way back to Kansas for Christmas!
My little no-(car)-nap-ninja is snuggled in her car seat next to me, happy as a clam, watching Elmo’s Christmas Countdown for the 17th time this trip. I tried to read some books with her, but 30 seconds in she pointed to the DVD player and said, “Elmo? Ho ho?” I get it…I usually pick television over books too. Sorry about your inherited laziness :/
Anyyyyway…let’s get to the point, shall we?
Linking up today with my sweet friend Darci for another Five on Friday!
ONE.
When I bought this simple advent calendar a couple of months ago, I had no idea how much Arden would actually enjoy it. Every morning she walks up to it and says “a door?” Then she runs in place with excitement until I get one opened up. 4 out of 5 times it’s a boring old ornament, but she still gasps like it’s the coolest thing ever…it’s pretty adorable.

Oh my goodness, I love this post! We are so alike! I love that advent box for next year, our daughter will be almost 3 by then, and she's obsessed with our's this year, and I'm thinking something like that will be perfect for next year! And 2- I have those earrings on my Christmas list too! Good job hubs! OH, and those little gifts are adorable. It's the thought that counts- handmade gifts are the best! Enjoy your Christmas with your sweet family!
xoxo,
Kelly

Speaking from a teacher's heart, I always LOVED homemade gifts more than store bought ones. Yes, Starbucks is always nice but you're Swiss Miss Snowmen are the cutest and from the heart! P.s Loving little Arden's aztec print leggings in the cow picture…wish I could pull them off!

I dropped the ball big time this year on teacher gifts- as in- I didn't do any! I feel bad even just seeing how cute yours are… So next year feel free to make mine and send them along- because your way cuter than I am. And THOSE EARRINGS. Send those to me too…. While your sending stuff. Send Arden so her and lex can play. I love that kid!
Leah @ Everyday Love says
I am already starting to plan things to do with Avery next year!!! Have an amazing trip and a merry Christmas!
Whitney says
Hilarious that she hated Santa but loved the cow! 🙂 And I'm loving your teacher gifts…there was so much more love and thought that went into that than a gift card. Very cute!
Dawn says
Your marshmallow treat is super cute! 🙂 I'm sure everyone loved it…although it's almost too cute to eat! 🙂 Hope y'all have a wonderful trip to Kansas! 🙂

I think the gifts you made are way better than a gift card!! I die over that cow Santa photo!! don't stress about the DVD thing – All Callie wanted to do on our trip to & from MI was watch monsters inc in her iPhone. it's travel do what makes them happy! (ps Callie is almost always a no nap in the car or plane so I feel your pain!)

How long are you home? We're headed back the day after Christmas! I know of two little toe heads that would likely get along just swimmingly.
Sara says
Hahaha! That Cow Santa is awesome. I think if Santa was a horse, Mac would have LOVED him!
