As always, I’m linking up with Darci & friends today to share my Five on Friday!
I honestly TRIED to come up with just one thing that wasn’t Christmas related…but…well, I failed.
Tis the season, right?!?
ONE.
Last weekend we made a couple of Christmas crafts to send to Arden’s grandparents.
Some turned out…

And others not so much 🙂

But Arden enjoyed getting messy, regardless!
TWO.
I got this text from my sister on Wednesday night and I’ve been laughing ever since…
Apparently Chris and Maren had a discussion at the lake this summer about coal turning into diamonds (that’s a normal uncle-niece convo, right?!)…well apparently Maren tucked it away, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to impress everyone with her weird little “Uncle Chris factoid”. I’m telling you, the girl doesn’t forget anything!
Anyway, this story pretty much sums those two characters up…
My husband, the keeper of odd facts.
And Maren, the little smarty who loves her goofy uncle 🙂
THREE.
Last Friday night I went to a cookie exchange at a friend’s house and had so much fun! Chris thought it was pretty fun too….no, he didn’t go…he just waited anxiously for us to get home so he could dig into the cookies!
I took one of my childhood favorites–Holly!
Not only are they super easy, but they’re delicious too…
And in the words of Pi Phi house mom, Mom Cody, they’re “virtually calorie-free!” 😉

Speaking of Christmas cookies, we made a batch of sugar cookies this week and Arden got to help decorate…one of them 🙂 Maybe next year she can be trusted with the sprinkles…
FOUR.
I love my Christmas tree at night. That’s all.

FIVE.
You may have seen Arden’s excessive list for Santa that I posted here, but I thought I would share mine as well.
1. A dust-buster (I know…settle down, Vanessa!)
2. A pair of these…

3. And these…

OR a lump of coal…because we all know it will turn into diamonds in a hundred years! 😉
Happy Friday, friends!!!
Have a great weekend!

We always made those same holly cookies growing up, except we called them wreaths, they are sooooo yum!! And don't you just love when those crafts don't work out?! I've had plenty of fails myself 🙂
I actually have never seen those holly cookies- they look amazing! ps love love love your tree! Have a fabulous weekend!
What a cute grandparent card idea!! Sorry, but I think I am stealing it! She is so good sitting there sprinkling the cookies, Easton would probably either eat them or destroy them! I guess thats boys vs girls ; )
Love the granparent card idea!! And your cookies! Happy Friday love!

Don't you just love Pinterest ideas! Some are a total mess! We just attempted to make the mistletoe foot print ornaments for our family out of salt dough. Her feet are too big now, so they just looked like blobs. Epic fail!
I'm going to a cookie exchange next week and needed a cute, but easy recipe…this is perfect! Thank you so much for posting! Love your tree…and Miss Arden!
I think I need to add those pink earring to my list!
LOVE those christmas tree footprints…bless it! And those pink earrings?! YES!
Merry, merry! xx
Hahahah Oh how I wish I could find some 100 year old coal buried in our backyard! Would that be nice! That text is too cute! We're attempting the hand print ornament this weekend and it will likely be a disaster! Your cards are so pretty though! I might need to make those for the grandmas and great-grandpa!
Those Christmas crafts are CUTE! I have been looking for something to do with my son, I think we might do them!
Have a great weekend!
Oh the little Christmas tree feet are just adorable! I would love for you to come link up with me today!

That text from your sister is too funny! Smart girl 🙂
Major mom failure over here we haven't done any Christmas crafts. I take it back, I bought some foam snowmen that have sticky stuff on the back that Hayden is supposed to put together and we tried and it lasted about .2 seconds so I gave up. Oops 🙂
Love your tree!
Your tree looks beautiful! It's always so relaxing at night seeing it all lit up. Happy Friday 🙂
The footprint tree is adorable, we also tried the handprint bulb and it was a total fail for us as well! Your tree Looks beautiful and the cookies you made are my favorite I look forward to those every christmas!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and will you ask Chris for me where I can get some of that coal…too cute:)
No sugar cookie is complete without a mountain of sprinkles!
Um, those Christmas crafts are so adorable!! They will be precious keepsakes for years to come 🙂 and your tree is stunning! I would LOVE to look at that glowing tree every night!
I laughed out loud at "settle down, Vanessa!" over your dustbuster. Too funny.
