Best of all, we enjoyed our time together–just the two of us.
I missed her desperately (as in, I teared up every time I saw a child…I mean, why would anyone bring their baby on the cruise when they knew I was struggling to be without mine?!?! ha!), but it was so good for us to get away. To eat meals where we only fed ourselves! To take as long as we wanted to to get ready (okay, that was just me)! To have an entire conversation where we didn’t use baby voices or talk about poop!
Here’s a little glimpse into our vacation…
It started with some downtime at my parents’ house in Ft. Myers. I am so glad we planned the first couple days there because it gave us a chance to take Arden to the beach for the first time!
We only stayed as long as one of coat of sunscreen would last (#palegirlproblems)…but she loved every second of it 🙂
The picture of my mom and dad walking Arden to the water has got to be one of my favorite pictures ever…
Our first stop was Nassau. Of course we had to browse around at the straw market…I mean, where else can you buy personalized Elmo purses these days?!
We strolled around the beach…and I took this page right out of Arden’s book.
Adults can wear headbands too, right?!?
I’m not sure whose book he got this out of though…
In case you ever go to the Bahamas (or any tropical island), let me give you a piece of advice: skip the scooters!
This training course doesn’t look sketchy at all, right??
We might look happy here, but don’t be fooled–I think we were just scared silly!
Just before this picture, I forced Chris to make a u-turn and ask for directions. Let’s just say that we didn’t complete the “U”…and we’ve got the bruises and scratches to prove it! Yikes…
Even though we paid for the entire day, we turned our death trap in after barely 2 hours…and sat on a patio and drank beer instead. MUCH safer in my opinion 🙂
Nice purse, Chris!
Some other highlights of the trip…
Dinners on the ship.
We even dusted off our fancy clothes one night!
Playing $16 bingo…and losing miserably.
Eating delicious key lime pie in one of our favorite places–Key West.
Chris is probably wondering where all of his money went!! Relax Dave Ramsey…we’re on vacation!!! 😉
Sitting at the Schooner Wharf Bar listening to this guy’s crap…Country/Rap music, that is.
And getting really good at taking pictures of ourselves again. Ha!
While we were having a grand ol’ time as a couple, our little lady seemed to be enjoying herself too…
I mean REALLY enjoying herself 🙂
Oh and apparently clothes are optional in Florida 🙂
And finally, the best welcome home reaction of all time…
Gosh, I love her.
She wouldn’t let us out of her sight (bathroom breaks were out of the picture!)…and she loved her souvenirs…
Thank you, Gigi & Papa!!!!
So there you have it…a great anniversary trip in the books! Now it’s time to settle in and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year. We’ve got Christmas decorating on the agenda this weekend!
Happy Tuesday, friends!

Such a FUN trip! It's always nice to take an occasional "adults only" trip, but I think the best part is coming back home to the little one!
