Hi friends!
Linking up today with my girl Darci for another round of Five on Friday!
So shall we?!?
ONE.
Christmas is coming to our house tomorrow….eeek! That means we’ll all be wearing flannel pajamas, sipping hot chocolate and singing holiday tunes as we hang ornaments on the tree. Oh wait, I think I confused my life with a Pottery Barn catalog for a minute! 😉 In all actuality, it will probably be Chris sweating profusely as he brings everything down from the attic (oh how I miss having a basement!!!) and me trying to keep Arden from taking down every piece of holiday cheer that I hang! But hey, the end result will be great…who doesn’t love a cozy Christmas house?!
I’ve been doing a little browsing for holiday printables and I think I found a new favorite Etsy shop.
I think I need all 3 of these…

TWO.
Speaking of Christmas cheer…
I was taking a shower the other day when I heard bells ringing somewhere in the house.
This is the video I took as I went to investigate…
Arden’s look is so like, “get out of here, Mom–this is our thing!”
We’ll just teach Hazel to play the guitar and we’ll have a family band!
THREE.
Whoa, this is turning into a Christmas themed Five on Friday in a hurry!
This year I’m bringing back a Gower family tradition–popcorn garland!
I always loved stringing popcorn for our tree when I was little (for the first 10 minutes anyway) and I want Arden to love it some day too. Perhaps I’ll regret this tonight when my hands are cramping up and I’ve poked myself with the needle multiple times…but it will be worth it when it’s done!
FOUR.
Last night I was making dinner and looked over to see that Arden had brought in a pillow from the playroom and was resting on it, watching Sesame Street. My child who NEVER stops was laying on a pillow–watching TV. Bizarre…but seriously adorable.
FIVE.
Don’t worry, I haven’t completely skipped over Thanksgiving this year!
However, I told Chris that after our vacation I just wanted to stay home for Thanksgiving and not cook–and he was cool with it. But even if we order pizza next Thursday, I will be making my Grandma’s pumpkin pie…because I’m pretty sure I’ve had it every Thanksgiving for the last 28 years–and I don’t mess with traditions like that, friends! 😉
If you’re looking for an easy, delicious and totally unhealthy pumpkin pie recipe for Thanksgiving–look no further!
Grandma Larsen’s Pumpkin Pie
2 Slightly beaten eggs
1 Can Pumpkin (15 or 16 oz.)
1 C. Brown sugar
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
¼ tsp Ginger
¼ tsp Cloves
¼ tsp Nutmeg
1 Can Evaporated milk
2 Frozen pie shells/regular size (come in pkg of 2)
Combine eggs, pumpkin, sugar, salt and spices. Gradually add evaporated milk. Mix well. Pour into pie shells.
Bake 45 minutes in 375 oven or until knife inserted comes out clean.
Well that’s all folks!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!

THOSE prints!!! Thanks, friend… now I need those too! 😉 😉
THE BAND. Oh my word!! So glad you recorded that — they are so very sweet. Perhaps you should send out an e-card of that as your Christmas card this year??? I vote YES!
THE LAYING ON THE FLOOR. Way to go, Arden!! I remember the first time Jackson did something similar I was so concerned that he was sick! These little busy bees just don't know how great it is to lay down and relax! All too soon they'll figure it out though. 😉
Hope you guys have a great weekend decking the halls. We need to do the same here!! Cannot wait!

I think we all have a roll of pics from the first time we noticed our kid laying down nicely with a pillow to watch TV. I distinctly remember the first time it happened with my A. It was shocking! ha!

Arden snuggling up on the pillow is so sweet! Isn't it heart warming to watch them find their own comforts? I love when O pulls a blanket up to the couch with him and cuddles up.
