Is it weird that I look forward to Thursday nights when I get to sit down and write my 5 on Friday posts? It’s like starting the weekend early or something…and I’m all about that 🙂
Linking up with my sweet friend Darci for some Friday randomness!
ONE.
Lesson of the day…if you’re going to steal someone’s chair, make sure it doesn’t have their name on it.
#shethinkssheshuman
TWO.
This song has been on repeat at our house lately. LOVE me some David Nail…
THREE.
Arden and I took a trip to the library on Thursday afternoon…we both needed a change of scenery, and this one is free! Since it’s still pretty hot here, the fact that this activity was air-conditioned was a nice bonus!
She played with legos, attempted some puzzles, pulled books off the shelves (while mom walked behind and put them back!), and roamed the aisles and aisles of books.
Oh and apparently being chased down these aisles is hysterical. There was lots of laughing and squealing…clearly we’re going to need to work on her library etiquette! 😉
FOUR.
My “Mom’s One Line a Day” book came in the mail this week! It’s been fun to jot down some thoughts before bed each night…and I imagine it will be even more fun to look back at this little journal someday. These are precious years and I want to remember as much as I can 🙂
Thanks for the great idea, Colleen!
FIVE.
SO. EXCITED. FOR. SUNDAY. Who’s with me?!?!?
Happy Friday, friends!!!

I so wish I watched Homeland – maybe on maternity leave I'll catch up! And LOVE the one line a day book – great idea! Ordering myself one now!
Gina's Blog says
Homeland…I.CANNOT.WAIT!!! And Libraries seriously charge these days?! Oh and love one and two 🙂
Vanessa says
Seriously! And since there's no K-State game today, it's for SURE the highlight of my weekend! Oh and apparently I can't write…the library is most definitely free…I was just trying to say it was a free change of scenery 🙂
Amanda {Kids and Cabernet} says
We love going to the library too – especially story time. The kids have so much fun! And I too get excited every Thursday night 🙂 have a great weekend!!

I love David Nail too. I feel like he is not mainstream yet but his voice is amazing and love all his songs.

Happy Friday! Thanks for the reminder to check out the library…although I think Hudson might have a hard time with library etiquette too!
hello erin says
We LOVE the library!! And thanks for reminding me I need to update my one line STAT (for like the past month!). HAPPY FRIDAY!
Rachel @ Well Worn Soles says
Oh I love that diary idea. I literally just ordered one for me and for a baby shower gift. Love that idea!!

I have that journal! I started Jan 1st during my pregnancy, so I'm in my second year. It's sooo fun filling out year 2, when year 1 is there for comparison!

Uhm just wanted to let you know, I finally found the veggie straws at Wal-Mart last night and I'm definitely addicted too! YUM SO GOOD! anyways, can I say that I look forward to Fridays and reading your Five on Friday even if I don't get to mine every week 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Vanessa says
YES! Sorry to make you an addict too…but they are the best! I love reading your posts and keeping up on little miss Daylynn as well! Have a great weekend, friend!!!

We went to the library a few weeks back, and your trip sounds almost identical to ours! Waverly pretty much pulled every book down, too funny!
Hope you & Arden have a wonderful weekend!

Very excited for Sunday! I'm interested to see what direction the show is headed this season!
Mateya says
I haven't watched Homeland but I keep hearing about it! Maybe we need to catch up on Netflix!
Colleen Sullivan says
I'm so glad you bought one of those little books! They'll be great to look back on 🙂 I haven't been great at keeping up with mine, but if I even just do it once in a while I think that's a win! The library is often our little haven too! Pretty safe and not too many breakables!
Jaclyn @ Haute Granola says
Found you through the link up….your dog is adorable! We also try to hit library story time since it's fun, FREE & gets us out the house. I was thinking of doing one of those one line a day memory books for my daughter starting on January 1st.
Have a great weekend.

Is it that sad that I haven't seen a single episode of Homeland and it's filmed right here in my city? Not to mention, one of my former high school teachers is a reoccurring actor on the show too. I have to do better. And I thought all libraries were free (to enter at least). I don't think we have any libraries around these parts that require an admission fee.
Glad you all found one that's free too. Nothing like escaping the heat for good books, a play area and air conditioning!!
Vanessa says
Okay, that is so cool…you definitely need to check Homeland out!
And our library is definitely free too–I just worded it kind of weird, I guess! I think our taxes are payment enough! 😉
Lauren says
LOVE Homeland. Thanks to Netflix:). Also love that journal, such a fun and special idea!
Elise @ cheers yall says
found you on the linkup and L-O-V-I-N-G your precious blog!!! i'm originally from charlotte, nc, so im also obsessed with homeland (but in the annoying way where i watch and i'm like "oooo! they're here! and ooo! they're there!"….but i did see claire danes once! ;)) anyway…you have a new follower in me! so glad to have found your blog! 🙂

Visiting from the Five on Friday linkup! Love the one-line-a-day book! I just added it to my Amazon wishlist! We hit up our library so much this summer! That's where my son did the majority of his learning to walk! I love all the different free programs they offer, including a summer reading program and a "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" program. We also did some music and dance lessons. Can't wait to take him back more often next summer as a 2-year-old!

Five on Friday is also one of my favorite posts to write during the week as well! I really enjoyed reading yours 🙂 Happy Weekend!

The picture of Hazel in Arden's chair cracks me up. She looks like a sweet pup! And love the 5 year memory book…that will be so fun to look back on and read one day.
Jenny Broussard says
I love taking Bailey to the library. but pretty sure we will be banned someday soon 😉 she loves to bother every. single. person that looks like they are working/studying or focusing on anything important haha!! but its definitely a fun and free outing!!
Sara says
I feel like the only person in the world not watching Homeland or Breaking Bad. I really must get with it.

I received one of those "One Line A Day" memory journals for my wedding. I'm going on year three of writing in it, and I LOVE it! Some days I forget, so I just end up going back a couple days later, but I have really loved reading back on the previous years. It is so crazy to see how much things change (and sometimes stay the same) year to year. I will have to get one of the baby ones when we have a little one!
Courtney B says
Arden is adorable and I LOVE her name!! A day at the library sounds so fun 🙂
How have I never seen that "One Line a Day" book? I would LOVE to have this! Other than my blog and IG, I don't keep a record of Mia and this seems like the best way to write down little things that I would forget otherwise.
I think I'm ashamed to admit that I've never even heard of Homeland… yikes.
Lobster Meets Peach says
Do I need to get on the "HomeLand" train? Everyone seems to being telling me yes! 🙂
