Happy Friday, folks!
You know the drill…it’s Five on Friday time with Darci & friends!
ONE.
Arden got her first pair of real shoes last week and I am loving them! Apparently she is too because as soon as she sees them she lifts her foot in the air like, “put them on me, please!”

Speaking of little shoes, I found these tennis shoes and rain boots at a children’s consignment store yesterday for…drum roll, please…$5 each!!! Now go ahead, be jealous of my photography skillz. I like to call this “I was so excited about my sweet deals that I couldn’t even get out of the parking lot before sending my mom a picture”. But come on, can you even handle those rain boots?!
TWO.
I think I need to add “try not to OD on candy corn” to my Fall bucket list this year.
Seriously though…it’s my ultimate Halloween weakness!

THREE.
Can someone please explain to me how my baby turned into a toddler overnight?!
All in one week, she started pointing to people and things when asked, signing “more”, blowing kisses, and just playing like a big kid. I put her baby in the stroller and she grabbed her puppy purse, stood up, and started pushing. My jaw about hit the ground! The fact that she associates the purse and the stroller is just mind-blowing to me. Such a big girl!
Oh and do you think it might be time to update the playroom chalkboard?! 😉
The other milestone of the week? Stuffing a handful of Hazel’s dog food into her mouth.
Like my mom said, it was bound to happen some time!
How could I even be mad?!
FOUR.
Have you tried these Veggie Straws yet?? I know they’re not new, but we’ve become pretty obsessed with them in our house lately. Arden and I both love the Zesty Ranch flavor, but sadly, it’s almost impossible to find anymore. I may or may not have searched for them in all of the grocery stores in our area…#confessionsofaveggiestrawaddict
Anywho, the original Sea Salt flavor is great too…go check them out!

FIVE.
3 of my 5 things are food-related…is there some kind of award for that?! No? Oh well, this one’s just too good not to share.!
I made this Garlicky Baked Butternut Squask recipe this week and it was delish!! Easy, healthy, and perfect when it’s 95 degrees outside and you’re trying to pretend that it’s Fall 🙂
Enjoy!

Have a great weekend, y’all!

I love Arden's shoes!!! So pretty! Shoes make them look so grown up. We are a huge fan of veggies straws – we buy them at Costco and they only sell the Sea Salt flavor – I bet the ranch is really good though. And that squash – looks so good! We just roasted some butternut squash last night, I'm going to have to try this recipe though – thanks!
Love her shoes, she is just the cutest! And I love all your food ideas! 🙂
So much to say, but THOSE RAIN BOOTS!!!!! I must see that sweet girl sporting those!! And I loved the photo of her holding her purse and pushing the stroller……. my favorite part? The arm rolls!
For me, it was bittersweet when J hit this stage. They do seem to change overnight and you wonder where your baby went. BUT, rolls are a sure sign that she's still a baby, so you have plenty of babyness left for awhile! J, however, has maybe one ankle roll left and then it's adios to any hint of being a babe!!
Hope you girls have had a great week…. I'm guessing you get to see Emily tomorrow?! Y'all have so much fun!! Girls night soon!!
I love the veggie straws they are so good. It makes me feel better eating those then other chips 🙂
Haha, omg, eating dog food!! I run every time my daughter scoots her little butt to our dog's bowls. So far so good. I'm sure it'll happen one day!
I LOVE those rain boots!! I'm going to a consignment sale today and now I have seriously high expectations. 😉 And yes, we've loved those veggie straws for a while now, they're SO addicting!
I swear after they turn one, it's like a FAST-TRACK on learning or something. It's crazy, isn't it?! So fun to see them learn daily!
That dog food picture is cracking me up! That face is too precious!
Jaqs looooves veggie straws, too! I feel better about giving her those than goldfish or something. She has now learned their like a straw though, so she's constantly blowing in them then giggling up a storm…so silly.
What sweet little rain boots! Great find!
I'm TOTALLY with you on the candy corn. I could munch on that stuff FOREVER!! And those rain boots are DARLING!
Feel free to spread the word on the link party that I'm hosting next week. It's a GREAT topic to be able to look back upon someday!!
THOSE RAINBOOTS!!!! And Arden pushing her stroller with her purse!!! I die!! Cutest toddler ever (I love having a girl!). We go through multiple bags of veggie chips in this house a week!
Confession…. I bite the candy corn off in layers…….. Bahahahahah – Crystal Michelle – CrystalMichellesMess.com
DYING over those rainboots!!!! I want them in my size! And veggie straws are a huge hit in our house too…I'll keep my eye out for the ranch flavor!
So precious! Once they turn one, all bets are off. They grow FAST. I feel like Avery changed overnight. Get your one way to toddler town girlfriend! 🙂
do you have amazon prime?? you can buy the ranch veggie straws from amazon and get free shipping with prime! 🙂
Love the pediped shoes!! I need to get my little one a pair!! Those rainboots are to DIE for! 🙂 Stopping by from the link up!

Oh I love her new silver shoes!! They are the sweetest and she looks adorable in them.
i rarely find time to keep up with my blog roll, but i always look for your five on friday! going to start it on my poor neglected blog! <3
Oh girl I LOVEEE some butternut squash. It's my favorite! Your little girl is too cute and those rainboots are adorable!
Veggie straws are amazing!!! And yes I admit Easton has tasted some dog food too!
I've never seen the veggie straws and actually I kept seeing you post about it previously and kept looking in the baby snacks haha! How could I miss them in the real food aisles! Love her shoes and glad she likes them! Daylynn has some bricks for feet so have a heck of a time getting any to fit or stay on 🙂 Arden is growing up so quick.
SO CUTE!! and that recipe looks awesome!
How SWEET is she! Precious. We are big fans of veggie straws over here, too. And butternut squash? Love. I'll have to try that out. New to your blog! 🙂
omg, love the rain boots and just bought my kiddos matching skeleton pj's too. so fun! New follower here 🙂
Candy corn is my weakness too. I can't get enough of the stuff. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, actually…), they don't know the glories of candy corn in Australia. The horror! I've already tasked my mom with sending my a care package full of it, though 🙂
ahh I LOVE little toddler shoes. They are the cutest, those rain boots!!! I need to know where this consignment store is. I have been to one over by the Galleria but always seems picked over! She is too cute with that stroller, I swear right after their bday they become such big kids and not babies anymore! 🙁
I went to Once Upon a Child in Katy–it was really clean and had tons of stuff! I've never been to the one in the Galleria but they probably have some nicer things?? And I totally agree–I think toddler shoes are my newest addiction 🙂
My little girl also seemed to turn into a toddler over night! She had a huge growth spurt of development at 6 months and it feels like we just hit another huge one. She is waving, clapping and pointing all the time now along with trying to say some more words. It seems like I'm shocked every day by the new thing she is doing each day.
