Arden has really taken an interest in the bookshelf in her room lately. She loves to sit on the rug in front of it and pull out each book, one by one. Sometimes she opens a book and we read it…other times she tosses it to the side and continues to explore.
This morning she picked a very special book off the shelf.
“Arden and Gerald and Piggie”
Written and illustrated (and autographed) by her sweet cousin Maren.
Maren made this book especially for Arden and gave it to her the last time we were home. She even did a book reading for our entire family…twice…wearing a K-State cheerleading outfit that fit her when she was 3. I love this girl 🙂
The story goes something like this…
Gerald and Piggie were best friends. Then one day they were playing owtsiyd and decided they really wished they had a nutr friend. And then Arden came along and they said, “would you like to play?” She said “Yes!”
Then Piggie went “ah ah ah choo!” He had to eat some chick in nootel soop and then he felt betr.
And then they played owtsiyd.
The End.
Such a special keepsake from our favorite 6-year-old. And a pretty smart and creative 6-year-old at that! I’m also glad it’s signed…might be worth something some day 😉
