I mentioned here that Chris was sick on Mother’s Day. Now did I mention that the guy weighed himself on the 3rd day of the virus and he had lost 15 L-B’s?!? I mean, seriously?? Men, I tell you…
Anyway, since he was feeling much better (and almost back to his normal weight–ha!) we decided to give Mother’s Day another go on Saturday. Chris had planned a picnic at the park, but it was pretty toasty outside so we decided to take it to the pool. He may have left the cooler full of food and drinks at home, but it’s the thought that counts 😉

Arden and I had to wear shades to keep from being blinded…by our own skin. I had hoped that she would get her dad’s ability to tan, but it looks like my Danish relatives beat out the Italians this time… 😉
After the pool we headed home for afternoon naps. Hazel wanted to take hers as close to Chris as possible…
That evening we finally made a trip to Good Ole Boys for dinner and Cajun music. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve driven by this place and said “we need to try that sometime”…and I’m so glad we did! The food was great and the atmosphere was even better…it felt like we were in Louisiana at a neighborhood crawfish boil. Plus, they have a drive-thru daiquiri trailer. My kind of place, people 🙂
Someone was in a very serious mood. I guess she was just taking in all of the Cajun craziness…
So all in all, Mother’s Day Round 2 was a success! It will be even more of a success next weekend when I go for a little spa day courtesy of Chris and my lovely in-laws. I am counting down the days!

So cute. What a great do-over weekend. Ryan and I both had the stomach flu this winter – he lost 10 pounds and I gained 3. WHAT?! Men.
