I know it’s practically Saturday, but “Saturday Favorites” just doesn’t have the same ring Here are a few things I’m loving lately…
I first smelled this at a friend’s house and immediately fell in love with the fresh scent. It doesn’t hurt that it comes in the prettiest little mercury dish.
2. The “Green Monster”
I know I’m a little late getting in on this craze, but wow! This smoothie definitely surprised me. I was pretty skeptical about the spinach, but just as everyone claimed–you can’t taste it at all. This has been my go-to breakfast for the past couple of weeks.
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 frozen banana
2 cups baby spinach

Any other great spinach smoothie recipes out there? I’m excited to try some more!
Aka: the greatest pants I’ve ever owned. For real! I finally broke down and made the investment a couple of months ago, and let me just tell you that it changed my life. The only problem? I never want to wear anything else! I also have the Wunder Under crops, which is what I wear when I’m washing these
4. Duck Dynasty
I mean, what’s not love?! I pretty much want to be a Robertson.
Poor Arden is going to grow up thinking that the only shows on TV are Duck Dynasty and the Real Housewives. At least we’re getting some variety, right?!
5. Yoga
I’ll be honest…I didn’t used to think of yoga as a real workout. But it turns out I just never had the right instructor! I have really gotten into the classes at our gym lately and I’m definitely starting to understand the benefits. I look forward to going each day and I leave feeling relaxed, energized, and like I got a great workout in. I told Chris today that I thought I was becoming addicted to yoga. His answer? “Better than drugs.” Yes, I suppose that’s true
Have a great Easter weekend everyone!

Totally agree with you on 1-3!! I drink green monsters like its my job. Sometimes I'll do mixed berries and OJ if I want something more "summery". But really you could throw spinach into any smoothie and not taste it! And I love Chris' outlook on yoga
Vanessa says
Ok, I'm definitely going to experiment with fruity ones too. Does Brian drink them too? Chris keeps turning his nose up to it because of the color. Guess there's really no way to hide that

Totally with you on 2 and 3! The first time I tried the "green monster" I plugged my nose and surprisingly it was good!! We always make this smoothy and it taste like ice cream…my husband loves them
1 medium frozen banana
½ cup ice
2 tablespoons almond butter
2 teaspoons cocoa powder (I haven't done this b/c I keep forgetting to buy it)
⅛ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup almond milk (I cheat and use sweetened)
2 tablespoons agave syrup (I just use reg. honey)
Vanessa says
Um, that sounds delicious! I'll have to pick up some almond butter this week and try it. Thanks Gina!

I am completely addicted to those Anthro candles. My family buys one for me for almost every occasion. No joke. I really want those pants too, I think I might bite the bullet and get some since I've heard such great things about them and let's be honest I rarely wear anything but yoga pants…except I actually need to get into yoga like you! Do you go to the hubby's work gym? I use to go all the time before O but haven't since he has been born but I want to get back to going soon!

I know what you mean! It's a good day if I actually make it into a pair of jeans! I actually just go to the Lifetime out here in Katy because they have childcare and I can go while Chris is at work. Too bad–we could've been workout pals!
