This past Sunday, little miss Arden was baptized! Both of our parents and her uncle Taylor were in town for Thanksgiving, so we thought it would be the perfect time for the big ceremony.
We really love our church. It’s so homey and warm…and it just has this wonderful small town feeling about it. The people are great and I absolutely love our pastor. In fact, when we first met him I remember hoping that he would get to baptize our baby one day.
Fast forward almost 2 years…
I guess I wasn’t prepared for how special this day was going to be.
Dressing Arden in the same baptism gown that my sister, Maren, Norah and I all wore…
Putting a pearl bracelet from Gigi around her chubby little wrist…
Standing up in the front of our church with my little family–dedicating sweet Arden, and beginning her life-long journey of faith.
It still amazes me that this time last year we were sitting in that same church, praying for God to bless us with a child. He is so good. 🙂
The whole ceremony was so neat, but my favorite part was the song that the congregation sang to Arden…
Our pastor walked her down the aisle as everyone sang and my mom was able to get this shot…
I just love it.
Arden was a sweetheart throughout whole service…perhaps God was looking out for us? 🙂
So thankful that our families could be here to surround her on her special day!
By the time pictures rolled around the little lady was fed up and ready to eat. She wailed and wailed until I handed her to Pastor Fenn…and silence. He had the magic touch 🙂
When we got home we toasted to Arden’s big day…
And cut into this pretty little cake…
I absolutely adore this bracelet from my mom. It will be something Arden has in her baby box forever…and I think it looks so sweet on that little wrist!
Then we passed the little lady around for more pictures…
She’s got the coolest Godfather in town.
{Insert creepy movie theme song}
And a gift from her Godmother–a little tikes nativity scene. Thanks Lindsay! It’s hard to believe that she’ll be playing with it this time next year!
What a wonderful day 🙂
One tiny hand to guide and hold,
One tiny life to shape and mold;
each child, a gift from God above,
a symbol of His strength and love.
