Well, the baby’s room is officially painted and paneled. And we only lost a refrigerator full of food in the process!
I’m really proud of the room so far, but I can’t take credit for any of the work. All I did was pick the color and the finishes…and then I sat on my butt and caught up on DVRed shows while Chris slaved away. Those paint fumes will get you, you know.
Here’s a before picture from when we bought the house…
The first step was the paint testing. Remember when I made a huge deal about my favorite color in the whole wide world? Well, we didn’t use it. I don’t know if it was the lighting in the room or the way it looked with the trim, but I hated it in real life! Note to self: don’t make bold paint color statements on your blog until the room is completely finished.
With that being said, we ended up going with Restoration Hardware’s Bay Laurel instead, and I absolutely love it!
Here’s my personal handyman starting the paneling…
He’s quite meticulous…but I’m thankful for that.
He’s also a huge geek.
Last night I came home from running a few errands to this…
I can’t believe how perfectly it turned out.
Finished!
With the walls complete and the plastic up off the floor, we were both anxious to start building the beautiful crib that’s been in a box in our den for two weeks. Torture!
I think someone is starting to understand what it going on here…
More pictures to come once we get the glider!
