With less than 2 months until Jackson’s arrival, it was time to shower the new mom-to-be with lots of love and gifts. I headed back to Kansas this past weekend for the Dr. Suess extravaganza!
My first mistake–forgetting my big girl camera. Had I known that Emily’s step-mom had so many Pinterest-worthy decorations, I would’ve snuck on one more carry on! I mean, just look at this stuff…
Cutest favors ever…
Cat in the Hat diaper cake…
Popcorn, goldfish, Twizzlers…now those are my kind of shower snacks!
Brittany made some great snacks too…Green Eggs and Ham! Not to mention the other form–green deviled eggs, which I didn’t get a picture of. And of course Jimmy’s famous fruit skewers, that I had probably 10 of 🙂
Cake!
Gift table…
Em and her butt paste…
At the end, Jeff made a surprise appearance with the final gift…Jackson’s very own fishing pole 🙂
As the out-of-town party planner, my job was to plan the game. Since I think good shower games are hard to come by, I thought I’d share this one that I found on the Paper Source blog. Daddy Knows Best quizzes the guests on how the Dad-to-be would answer a list of baby questions. Jeff had some hilarious answers and also some tear-jerkers. He wrote a letter to Jackson that was so sweet….and the best part is that Emily has all of the answers in a little scrapbook that she can look back on someday (and see if Jeff changed as many diapers as he promised to, ha!)
All in all, a great shower for a great friend. I can’t wait to meet little Jackson in March!
