Well, we can add another great wildcat weekend to the books! On Friday morning, we loaded up our boots and tailgating gear, and headed to the Cotton Bowl with some friends. My in-laws were nice enough to let us mooch off of their season ticket holding perks…plus it meant we got to spend some more time with them after the holidays!
The weather was amazing–perfect for bags, can jam and beers. I even got to spend some time in a very large bag chair, chatting with Erica, Ashley, Liz and all the other girls.
One thing I realized–5 hours of tailgating is too much these days. I was so sleepy by the time we were ready to head into the game. How we used to wake up at 5am to tailgate in college is beyond me. Oh to be young again 😉
Let’s go cats…
To say the cowboys stadium was amazing would be quite an understatement…
I was so happy to get to see Ali and Lauren at half-time…it made the semi-depressing first half seem not so bad!
Well we all know how the game ended…kind of sad, but hey, it was still an incredible season for Bill and his boys. We had so much fun watching every game and I’m already looking forward to doing it again this fall.
On Saturday the K-State theme continued. I drove from Ft. Worth to Dallas to watch the basketball game with Heather and Erica. Heather loves K-State sports. Loves.
I can’t say I saw that much of the game in the midst of our chatting, but at least we know they won. Love these girls so much…
Saturday night was spent at the legendary Billy Bob’s in the Stockyards. This has been on my Texas checklist since we moved here, and when I found out the Josh Abbott Band was playing the day after the bowl game, it took about 5 seconds for us to buy our tickets.
Bull riding to start off the night…
Chris is no longer allowed to pack his own weekend bags. Who wears a v-neck to a honky tonk?!?
Everyone was given alter-egos for the night, which made for some very interesting stories. Hank was a dancing machine, Earl had “pretty teeth”, we almost lost Newt, and Cheyenne got fiesty…and rightfully so 🙂
Here are Hank and Earl. Hey Hank…those wranglers so tight you can’t smile?
Lucky for me, we found the Niederees and this little lady. And Chris got to spend some time with his bud Bill 🙂
After riding home in the bed of the truck, Hank got a little rowdy…
Such a great weekend with so many laughs. I love living in Texas and am so grateful for the friends we’ve made here. Life is good in the Lone Star state!
