In the midst of our washer and dryer breaking down (I know, I know…this is the last time I’ll mention it), one of my best friends–Whitney–called me. Since Whit and I are not known to have short phone convos, I sent her a text back letting her know I’d call her the next day because we were stuck at Sears. Her response included the words “BIG NEWS” so I ran outside and called her immediately. Sure enough, on their 6 year anniversary, Mr. Adam Webb had popped the question!!! It was the cutest story ever and I couldn’t be more excited for these two! They are just one of those couples that you spend 5 minutes with and know that they’re perfect for each other. They can make fun out of any situation–all they need is each other. And hey, if it weren’t for Whitney & Adam, there probably wouldn’t be a Vanessa & Chris…so I’ll always be thankful for that!
It’s crazy to think, but Whitney and I have been friends for 12 years. Jaguar Jazz days! Sometime before their wedding day, I’m going to scan in a bunch of old pictures to put up on here…spandex, bangs and awkwardness pretty much sum it up. Yikes! As for Chris and Adam, they became buds when they both joined Lambda Chi their freshman year. In 5 years of college, they were roomies, took countless classes together, and made maybe a couple of trips to Aggieville.
The timing of their engagement was awesome because it meant that we would get to celebrate with them 2 days later in Austin for the K-State/UT game. I was pretty antsy to get to the hotel, see the happy couple, and get a good look at Whit’s new bling. And oh my, does it bling! It reminds me of the days I used to dream of my engagement ring. Gema & CO is a great site to visit if you’re dreaming of your perfect engagement ring too!
Stole this from her FB profile. So pretty…
Before we headed out of town I had picked up some wedding magazines so the bride-to-be would have something to read on her flight home. And since Whit and I have shared many a bottle of Andre’s, it only seemed appropriate…
Don’t you love the classy bedspread? 🙂
After lots of chatting, we headed out to dinner and 6th street…
Thankfully Saturday’s game was a late one, because we needed our beauty rest. Then it was…take a guess…back to 6th Street.
Patio lunch with the Webb’s (pretty much, right?!) and the Siegels…
And it just wouldn’t be right without a couples picture. We have so many of these from the last 5 years and I love it!
Finally, we headed to the stadium for a not-so-exciting win. Thankfully we had a real-life episode of sister wives playing out a few rows in front of us…so we definitely got our money’s worth!
In the end, it was an amazing weekend celebrating one of my favorite couples. Chris and I are both so lucky to have these two in our lives and I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate their big day! Love you guys!
PS: Wanna go back to Key West?
PSS: Once you are married, I am starting a petition to include wives on the annual ski trips. And that’s that!
