Today Chris and I celebrated two years of marriage! And by celebrate, I mean we woke up at 5:45am to drive home from Austin, then spent the day cleaning, running last minute Thanksgiving errands, fixing the Christmas lights, picking up a stinky dog from the pet ranch, bathing said stinky dog, baking, and waiting for our new washer and dryer to arrive. I’d like to think I’ve been pretty organized in preparing for the Thanksgiving extravaganza that’s about to begin (more on that to come), but there were a couple things I couldn’t prepare for. 1. Our washer biting the dust. Although, we should’ve known it was coming since it has sounded like there was a person with a jackhammer in our laundry room for the past couple months. 2. My one-time cleaning lady not showing up. A few months ago I bought an Urban Dealight coupon for 5 hours of house cleaning to use before our guests arrived….BAD idea! Again, I should’ve known when I called to schedule my appointment and the lady asked me to remind her the day before because “sometimes she forgets”. Apparently sometimes she forgets even with 3 voicemail reminders and an email. Needless to say, I will be getting my money back for that one!
Our anniversary day may not have been anything grand, but that’s okay with me–it’s every other day that counts. And don’t worry, the washer and dryer were not our anniversary gifts (although they are amazing!) We’ve actually been celebrating for the last 4 weeks at country dance lessons. This was our gift to each other and I’m so glad we decided to do it…we are now two-steppin’ machines! I can’t wait to try out our new skills at a honky tonk sometime soon.
2 years ago today was the best day of my life, and I know there are even better days ahead 🙂 I am so lucky to get to experience every day with my best friend. Happy Anniversary, CHRI–ISSSS. I love you!!!!!
