It’s been over 2 weeks since I’ve blogged…which I think is 2 years in blog time. Work has been hectic as we’ve been preparing for our big conference of the year. I had to get there on Saturday morning to help prepare our monster of a custom booth–so Chris and I tried to make the most of our short weekend with a date on Friday night.
We put on our boots and went out to the Fort Bend County fair. First was the rodeo…I would seriously go to a rodeo every weekend if I could! You just can’t beat the atmosphere.
We also found one of Hazel’s cousins taking a nap…
Then we ended the night with Sunny Sweeney in concert. She has an awesome voice and I think she’s going to be a pretty big star. Then we can say, “remember when we saw her on that tiny stage at the county fair?”
On Saturday morning I was up bright and early to head to Anaheim. We’ve been working on our booth for about a year, so I was anxious to get there to see it and make sure the construction was going okay. It was really incredible to walk in and see this…
And a day and half later it looked like this…
The booth was a huge success for our marketing team and the show couldn’t have been better for our company. Conference weeks are long ones, but there’s no better feeling than getting home and knowing you had a very successful show. Plus I got to see a lot of my awesome co-workers from STL. I sure do miss being in the office with that crew!
On the second night of the conference, Microsoft rented out Disneyland for an all-conference party. Now that’s my kind of party 🙂 We ran around like 10 year-olds from Space Mountain to Indiana Jones…and we got to meet a few celebs along the way. This was the main goal of my trip because I knew Maren, Norah and Luke would be excited to see their favorite characters in a picture with Aunt Vanessa.
Lindsay told me the girls made her late to work because they kept wanting to see the pictures over and over again on her phone. I think we should talk my dad into a family trip to Disney sometime…Chris and I may not have kids, but we would probably have just as much fun!
All in all, it was a really good trip. However, next time I go to California I hope to have more time to enjoy it…and maybe experience Ashley’s fabulous LA life 🙂
Now it’s time to enjoy the best month of the year! Cheers to October!
