There are perks to marrying a farm kid.
1. He always knows the answer to the “what is growing in that field?” game…or at least he pretends too…who am I to argue that it doesn’t look like milo?
2. He mows the yard without complaining. I imagine caring for our postage-stamp-size lawn is a heck of a lot easier than a typical day’s farm work.
3. And finally, he’s handy. When it comes to home improvement stuff, he’s kind of the man.
Case and point: our new patio. He dreamt it up a few months back…made some drawings on the computer…researched the process of building a patio…ordered the materials….sweat like an animal for a few days…and voilà!
Here’s how it all went down…
Let the “fun” begin.
It hadn’t rained at our house for months until the day after Chris started digging. I told him we could always just stop there and enjoy our fish pond.
After applying some magic dust that hardened the mud, the project continued…
Once all the hard stuff was done, I agreed to help. Laying pavers is really fun…seriously.
It turns out that sawing bricks is quite loud. We didn’t have ear plugs, so Chris had to break out his hard hat from work with built in hearing protection. Showoff…
Ahhh…completion.
And finally, my main contribution to the project…new furniture. I spent lots of time researching while Chris was out laboring. That counts for something, right?
So from now on, you can picture me blogging from here 🙂
Thanks Chris…it perfect!
