Blogging is so cool. Now that I’ve been documenting our life on here for over a year, we’re able to look back at annual occasions and see how much has changed since the past year’s event. And with little nieces and nephews–a LOT changes in a year! For instance, at the 2010 Gower family reunion we were just finding out about Will the Thrill. Now he is 5 months old and in 12-month old clothing. Chubby and awesome…
I love these Tommy Pickles legs. I don’t want them myself, but I love them 🙂
The best story from our trip is courtesy of the one and only Maren…surprising, right? 🙂 My brother-in-law had mixed up a little concoction called an “Unknown Hero”–a mixed drink from one of the bars they used to go to in college. If there had been a fish tank and lots of straws, I would’ve sworn we were at Fat’s on a Friday night. Anyway, as we all tried Mike’s masterpiece we talked about how it took us back to college…Maren being the parrot that she is, was obviously soaking it all in. So the next day I was enjoying a glass of the drink and Maren asked me if she could smell it. She took a big wiff, looked at me and said, “mmmm…smells like college.” Oh Maren, that one is going down in the story books!
The lake is one of my favorite times of the year. It’s 3 days of hanging out with family at the pool or on the deck–with the occasional outing to the outlet malls or go-kart track.
Chris and I lucked out this year because we got to room with the Carter clan. I don’t mind waking up early every morning if I get to wake up to faces like these…
And how could you forget sweet Mr. Luke? He was rocking his Edward Cullen hair and I think it suited him perfectly…
Luke is one of the happiest kids in the world and he loves (I mean loves) his cousins. I think it’s safe to say the feeling is mutual 🙂
Here they are, all dolled up for our family pictures. My cousin’s wife is a photographer in Quincy and she was so sweet to dedicate her Saturday morning to snapping some family photos for us. We got a sneak peak and they looked great!
Little preppy man.
One thing that hasn’t changed since last year is everyone’s love for Uncle Chris. I don’t know if they would all like me as much if we weren’t a package deal!
Norah snacking?? Couldn’t be…
And here she is just hamming it up.
Putt Putt golf is also becoming a tradition at the lake. Check out the sweet Barbie shades we brought for the girls.
A new trend?
So glam.
And finally, one last modeling pic that just melts my heart…popped collar and all.
Maybe he’s destined for this?
Now I’m trying to remember what we did at the lake before the kids?!? All I know is that it’s way more fun with them 🙂
