No real theme to this blog post…just random stuff that’s been keeping us busy 🙂
1. There’s a new brewery in town! I missed a turn a few weeks back and turned around by an old grain elevator…hello No Label Brewing Co. A little research told us that they had free tastings on Saturdays, so we loaded up our tailgating gear and headed out to try some new brews. They were delicious! We will definitely go back…but maybe next time we’ll bring sunscreen. Ouch!
By the way, is it football season yet?!
2. This is kind of overdue, but I finally bought a new duvet cover for our room. I had been looking for what felt like years and then I came across this beauty on PB.com. When I saw it was called “Vanessa,” I knew it was meant to be.
3. I got the highlight job from you-know-where. I’ve been so lucky to have a great hairdresser back in Olathe who I’ve gone to since probably 4th grade…she knows exactly what I like and she never messes it up. Since we moved to Houston I’ve been searching for “the one,” but every place I’ve tried has been so expensive. So when I found this girl online that was half the price, I was all over it. Well folks, there’s a reason she was half the price. Maybe she only went to school half the time? To give you an idea of how this went down, there was one point when she had so much bleach on my head that I couldn’t feel my scalp…it was numb. Probably not good, right?
There’s no way I’m putting an image of my Slim Shady locks on here, so you’ll just have to imagine. I cried a few times and wore a hat for 24 hours straight. Believe me, you would too if your hair looked like this!
Luckily, I was able to get an appointment on Monday with a guy who had done my hair before. He was a complete life saver…he got rid of the cheap orangey tone and added some highlights. It’s still pretty darn light, but that’s what I get for trying to save money in the haircare department. Never again! Sorry Chris 🙂
4. We went to Pasadena. Texas, that is. The Eli Young Band was playing at their annual Strawberry Festival and you know there are 2 things I can never turn down…live country music and carnivals. The people watching was superb. Too bad my husband was one of the spectacles 🙂
He carried around a chicken leg for an hour, stole a random person’s leftovers, and finished the night off with fried oreos. He probably spent a little too much time here:
Somehow I still like him. Probably because he still likes me with orange hair. Notice the black and white editing? 🙂
Now we’re gearing up for Memorial Day Weekend in Great Bend! Fat Hog 500 is coming back and I could not be more excited to experience it for the first time!
